How to Save Money at On Point Mobile Acupuncture Veterinary Services
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Ruby and I will forever be singing Dr Krawchuk’s praises. My 7 year old service dog, Ruby, hurt her back in July and I was ready to say goodbye to playing with her and had serious reservations about her quality of life. I was absolutely devastated. I noticed a drastic improvement in Ruby’s pain by the end of the first session. Within a couple of treatments I noticed behaviors that I hadn’t seen in Ruby in years so I suspect she was in more pain than I realized for longer than I realized. Ruby loves Dr Krawchuk and I cannot say enough good things about her. She took the time to calm my fears, is great with my dog, and is one of the nicest people to work around. Ruby is on a regular schedule to keep her feeling great as she ages and it’s so wonderful to see her feeling so good again! I have recommended her to several friends and training clients and they all have the same great feedback about her.

Dr. Jen is the best!!! We are so grateful to her. Our pup- Koda - 9 years old-suffers from several health conditions including IVDD. He had emergency back surgery in February 2020. This past October he started having severe back spasms. After consulting his surgeon, we contacted Dr. Jen to evaluate him for acupuncture and laser therapy. Koda responded well to treatment ( and loves Dr. Jen), showing improvement right away and now he is a very different and happy dog. He runs and plays as he did as a young pup. We have had many people notice the significant improvement in him and even some stating “he’s a new dog”. Thank you so much Dr. Jen! We highly recommend Dr. Jen!

Jen is amazing, I highly recommend her. She is helping my 7 yr old pit with a torn tendon in her front leg. My girl loves her and is so happy when she comes to treat her. Jen is very caring and kind you can really see how much she cares about the animals she treats. She is also very knowledgeable about herbal remedies, supplements, & prescriptions. She is a delight to work with. I feel truly blessed to have found her and it is so convenient to have her come to my home where my dog is comfortable and not afraid of going to the vet. Also being that she has limited mobility it is hard to get her out of the house in the car and all that stress it puts on my girl is no good for her. At home she is comfortable in her own space with her toys and let's Jen do the treatments of acupuncture & laser therapy. My fur baby has shown great improvement and is so relaxed after her treatments. Even though my vets office offer the same type of treatments, they are shorter done by a tech and not nearly as convenient or affordable as having the same person come to your home and treat your pet like their own. I cannot recommend Jen enough if your pet is in need call her! I called all over long island trying to get an appointment and the wait time for an appointment was too long or the pricing was way out of my budget. If you need a great therapist for your fur baby there is no one else to call but On Point mobile Acupuncture Veterinary Services.
