I can not glow more about this practice. My dog has been coming here since he was a baby and he loves going to the vet. Today they took my furbaby in for an emergency appointment and took the best care of him. You can not go wrong with any of the vets in the practice. They are all caring and smart doctors. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions, my dog and I are very grateful.

There are no words that could judiciously describe the gratitude I have for the doctors and techs here. This review is long overdue — almost 2 years ago, we received the most unfortunate news a fur mom/dad could get, that our Charlie Brown could not be cured and his poor prognosis would deem him medically considerable for euthanasia. BPV was our regular vet (we used to live in the area), and upon receiving that news from an emergency vet, we brought our 15 year old Yorkie here to our trusty PCV (primary care vet), Dr. McLaughlin. It isn’t that we found a medical professional who didn’t recommend euthanasia, in fact, it was probably the best choice. But it was the fact they treated our urgency and desperation to keep Charlie Brown with us with sensitivity, professionalism, and providing us all of the possible medical options available in order for us to make the best possible decision for our dog. The entire staff supported our decision and we worked closely with them for an entire year with holistic and palliative care so that we could hear Charlie bark at things, run around, and of course, pee on our floor when we didn’t give him pizza. I know that I would not receive this level of care anywhere else. Needless to say, it is because of Dr. McLaughlin, Dr. Berk, and the entire staff that Charlie Brown lived a happy and fulfilling year after his initial recommendation for euthanasia. Eventually, when the time did come, our predicament was handled with generosity, tenderness, and with the utmost sincerity. I don’t know how else to give back to this place, but I hope a good review will encourage everyone to trust your fur babies here. Unfortunately for us, we did move a bit too far away to consider BPV our primary care vet, but I hope other people will. Thank you so much again everyone @ BPV for being our loving vet. We are grateful to you.

Dr. McLaughlin is possibly the worst vet in Manhattan. She should lose her license for gross neglect and / or incompetence. She treated my dog for over a year and not only misdiagnosed her 3 times (I later brought her to Dr. Chen who diagnosed her correctly) but also completely scammed me during an emergency. My dog swallowed something and we called the vet to ask if Dr. McLaughlin / the practice could remove the object, should there be one, either by surgery or via endoscopy - she said she should be able to. We took her to the vet for xrays and Dr. McLaughlin comes back with a $600+ bill and tells me she does not have the tools / facility to conduct the procedure and is also not certified to perform them. On top of being incapable, she scammed me for copious amounts of vet fees. Truly scum of the earth.

Long overdue review- been going here for several years and my dog always seems to come home sick with something else and worse after a visit here. . It’s not ok. It’s definitely gone down hill and not sanitary. They don’t wipe down anything in the exam room in between visits. . They always make you wait like 20+ min. I’ve been going here cause it’s local to the neighborhood, but it’s really not good. I’ll need to find a new place I can trust with the care and well being of my dog.

We took our dog here as a semi-emergency. He wasn't in grave danger but we wanted him looked at ASAP with no appointment and on a Saturday. For just a small difference in charge, they accommodated us and saw him very quickly. The vet was very helpful and thorough; very communicative and provided very several options for what turned out to be a manageable situation. We were very happy with the service and look forward to using them regularly. Thanks Battery Park Veterinary!
