How to Save Money at Animal Hospital of Brooklyn
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Honestly, this is the best vet my family and I have used for our animals. My family and I started taking our animals here about 7 months ago. The women at the front desk and the vet assistants are all so sweet. And our vet, Dr. Campanile is amazing. He is a very kind-hearted, compassionate, and a straight to the point kind of person, which is what my family and I love. He takes chances with our animals, which is what we appreciate. He took a chance on our almost 16 year old lab/beagle, Lola and gave us an extra week with her before she passed. He took a chance, something other vets didn’t want to do. We just started taking our (almost) 3-month old puppy, Hush here and we will continue to do so! We are so grateful that we began using this place!! Most definitely recommend!!!

I honestly love Dr. Campanile! Many years ago, he saved my puppy that had gotten hit by a car. He knew that my brother in law was my puppy’s vet but was too far away, as Turbo needed immediate lifesaving care. Dr. Campanile did not hesitate to insist we bring him in to stabilize him so we may make the trip to my brother in law. When my brother in law moved further away, I knew that we needed a local vet. No other veterinarian practice would do, it HAD to be Dr. Campanile and his amazing staff at the Animal Hospital of Brooklyn. 17 years and 7 dogs later (including one that we fostered), we still bring our pups there and could not be happier or more satisfied with their amazing & super compassionate care along with their incredible pup-side manners! We have recommended many pet families there over the years and will continue to do so!

What can I say to Dr. Campanelli and his staff other then THANK YOU! Chance, Catherine and I love you guys. I can write a book on my 14 1/2 year old pit-bull!!! Chance has taken us to another galaxy. From eating plastic bags, to having emergency surgery, to going into liver failure a few yrs later, losing his sight in one eye, to seeing a neurologist, on steroids and demamarin( that treatment took me to the cleaners) Dr. Campanelli Has been front and center with Chance care. While he was on vacation last year our cat Jinx was hospitalized for four day, came home for one day and again his urinary track was blocked .His brother, A vet in Arizona was there to cover and he was just as compassionate as Dr. Campanile. Like I said I could write a book but all I can say is I’m truly happy with the care , compassion and love that he expresses with not only his patients but with The fur babies MOM’S!!❤️ Thank you Dr. Campanelli!!! Carmen & Catherine

I love this place and Some of these doctor are very good but one of the girls in the desk is very rude and acting stupid , I don't know if she's new but I don't care because she must know her job and I've been taking my dog here for more than 2 years and I've never had a problem. I tried to weigh my dog and she said no, your dog is very little boy and I told her I have come here many times and I always weigh him and how do you come to say that and then someone called the office and she said omg omg lord, if she doesn't like that job she should leave because if this happens again I'm going to cursing her very bad.
