How to Save Money at Options Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I had previously given Options rave reviews....until my visit on Friday. The two girls at the front desk are the most condescending, unfriendly, unprofessional jerks for what this organization claim to stand for. Not only did they berate me at the front desk, but they also berated and double-teamed an elderly couple who were merely trying to get the correct price for their pet's procedure. And they did so in front of others. At one point, I could pay half the price for my dog's medicine and pay the other half on my next visit. This time, however, the girl at the front desk decided the best approach to telling me such option was no longer available was to say 4 times they needed the other half of the money on Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday. When that felt good, she highlighted it on the receipt and said Options would no longer see my dog if I didn't pay forty-five dollars on Friday. Just nasty attitude, rude as ever, childish and such a stain on this organization. My dog had a procedure the prior Wednesday so I asked if a doctor could quickly check to see if her sutures were healing properly. She replied like this: "We're busy right now". Again, just rude and nasty as ever. The only positive: My dog's doctor was great.

my dog had to be put down last night. we took her to the emergency vet because of how she was acting/her stool. we found out that her mass had spreading and she had a tumor on her spleen that ruptured. we never knew she had a tumor on her spleen. options vets never did an ultrasound and therefore did not know she had several things going on on her insides. the last two times we brought her into options for her bump, the doctors told us two different things. the first visit (male vet) told us it was likely just a bump that wasn't doing too much but should be removed just because it's a bump and they're not fun to have. the next vet (female) told us it is cancerous and that it should be removed. this vet actually did a biopsy to find out what the real issue was. the male vet did not test anything. one of the ladies at the front counter was very rude on our second visit. she had purple hair, i can't remember her name. we were told by the assistant staff in the room before they did everything that they had a payment plan. we were not told that it was a 3rd party situation or that it required a credit check. we went to the front to ask if they do payments and the lady with the purple hair said "next time, if you can't pay in full, you need to tell someone before they do anything." it was full of attitude. we were already upset because we found out our dog had cancer. there was no empathy there. we also didn't say we couldn't pay in full, we were simply asking if it was an option they have. regardless, the lady next to her was very kind and understanding. she had the empathy that the other young lady lacked. it goes without saying that if my husband and i ever get another dog, we will not be coming here. ask for an ultrasound. if they don't do those, go to a different vet. it may be very necessary. the staff is not on the same page, from the doctors to the assistants, to the front desk staff. be specific. or don't be a business

I was given immediate service, they squeezed me in on a full calendar... same-day. Caring technicians. My only complaint was how I was told a misleading thing over the phone about pricing, and I wasn't expecting to pay as much as I did. They need to be more up-front about that when you call in, so you're prepared.
