How to Save Money at Vegas Valley Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I recently visited Las Vegas Valley Pet Hospital for the first time to get a second opinion on my 10 mo. old Bichon Frisé. Previous vet hospital I took her to said her kidneys aren't working like they should and we need to change her diet and check back in 1-2 months for urinalysis. I took my little Bella to see Dr. Rokos at Las Vegas Valley Pet Hospital and I couldn't believe how calm my puppy was. I provided the Dr with the records from the previous vet and talked through the labs and he said by her labs it was one of two things. He explained every thing in detail and actually gave us literature. He did process of elimination and was able to diagnose and treat her for something that wasn’t a permanent thing. Thank God! Their facility was very clean and sterile. The staff were very nice vs my other vet's office. I highly recommend Dr. Rokos and Vegas Valley Pet Hospital.

We used to think Dr Rokos was a compassionate doctor, but not after our last visits he performed a hip surgery on our dog that seemed gone pretty well. He was ready to do the second one. I personally thought it was too soon he was angry and sick on the second surgery, the lack of communication and caring led to the death of my dog, they missed the blood work showing she had cancer so she went through torture for nothing We will never step foot in his building again

My family just moved to Las Vegas from Florida so I went from being in the industry and knowing exactly who to call to being completely lost. After some thorough researching I had found the perfect location. We came to VVPH for an ortho consult because our 2 year old pit bull was suspected to have torn his CCL. Being a former vet tech, I knew how I would run the room and the tech was like a mirror image of myself. The Doctor was thorough, detailed and really broke the injury and surgery down well for my husband who doesn’t have much veterinary knowledge. My pup had a lingering skin condition that our regular vet had seen him for a week earlier and dismissed, but Dr Rokos was just as bothered by the looks of it as I was and made sure to get it some treatment prior to surgery. Their surgery package estimate was complete from preanesthetic blood work to pain meds and laser therapy sessions outpatient. We were able to get him scheduled for a couple of days later and just brought him home today after and overnight stay. Tito is happy, wagging his tail and on the road to recovery. We are grateful for the team at Vegas Valley and can’t wait to see them this week for his laser therapy sessions!!

I switched my dog's care to Vegas Valley Pet Hospital because of Dr. Rokos. I saw Dr. Rokos at his previous location for a few years with my senior dog. After he passed away I got a puppy. The puppy, Cody came to me very sick. After the obvious issues were dealt with, he was still vomiting regularly and had very loose stools. Dr. Rokos went at it like a detective. After a few tests, he ultimately figured out that this little guy has inflammatory bowel disease and established a treatment plan for him. When Dr. Rokos left that clinic to open VVPH I followed. Dr. Rokos is smart, personable and kind. I don't think there is a better vet for my Cody. This facility is beautiful. It's clean, not overbooked and easy to find. The staff is nice and seem genuinely concerned about the pets in their care. If you need a great vet, Dr. Rokos and his new team are amazing.

Vegas Valley Pet Hospital is a breath of fresh air after making a switch from our previous vet. Very friendly and professional staff and even better we got to stay with our same veterinarian. Dr. David Espinosa is the best, most caring and diligent caregiver ever. You can see his genuine care and concern for his patients. We love you Dr. E and so glad to continue our journey with you!❤️
