How to Save Money at Providence Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google

I have had the unfortunate experience of having 2 dogs and 2 bunnies pass away recently. Our regular vet was unavailable and we ended up at Providence Veterinary. They were beyond wonderful and compassionate. They are now our regular vet!!! We love the staff and Dr. Kevin and Dr. Perry.

My poor dog is having issues with allergies and his skin. He was scratching himself raw so I decided to get him some help. Theresa at the front desk is friendly and funny. Tiana helped us get settled by asking lots of questions and gathering information. She's was so attentive and caring. Dr. Perry was very kind, polite and patient. He thoroughly inspected my furbaby Joshua and did not rush the visit. The staff is fantastic. I am going here from now on. They work really hard and I felt they did their best to take care of my baby. Also, their prices are super reasonable! Thank you for not price gouging your clients and for giving us VIP treatment. I appreciate you all! Very happy with our visit! Our new go-to office and staff ❤️ VISIT JULY 30TH, 2024 Hi Providence Team, Just want to say I have been to your pet hospital multiple times now. The last few times I have been helped by Drew and I just wanted to shout him out. He helped me with Joshua's dental appointment and this most recent time when I took Joshua in to have his ear looked at. Drew is very throurough and professional. He never rushes me and is super gentle with my tiny furbaby. Drew, thank you for always being so kind and warm. My family and I appreciate you, Dr. Perry and the rest of your hard-working team. I think you guys are doing a fabulous job and it makes me so happy to know you guys are just down the street. From my family to your work fam, thank you so much!

This place has gone so far down hill over the last year or so... My $400 spay turned into a $2000 emergency vet bill, now I'm being charged $200 just to look at an open wound and get some antibiotics. They didn't even put a bandaid on it. If you wanna be charged more than a human doctor for work quality like a halfway house, this is the spot. It's a shame because it's right down the road... Now I have to drive somewhere else.

If I could give it a zero I would. New people working there all the time. The assistants sometimes don’t listen to requests they just say the Dr said this etc etc. Jacob is the “manager” but if corporate or the real owner is reading this ask him why I’ve seen so many new employees? Seems like he can’t keep them because they aren’t happy so review that because this place is a place I’ll never bring my dogs again. Change in leadership is a MUST for this place to maybe get recognized.

The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. I was also blown away at how reasonable the cost of a dental surgery for a cat was. They took great care of my baby.
