How to Save Money at Hearts Alive Village Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Affordable compared to other clinics, came in to spay my 10pd 2.5yr old and total was around $115 compared to others ranging from 200-400. Was super impressed with the visit and price list. I will be returning for routine vaccines.

At first I thought this was a great place and the price was great for dental and spay. All I needed was the baby k9s out. But figured it was a great opportunity they had a program for assistance. Not the case. After I got my estimates WITH blood work includes because I was confused due to my babies size although vet said her age it wasn't necessary. I scheduled an appointment for the blood and when I talked to the group that was helping with assistance they mentioned the blood work was extra. Then when I was told other qualifications to program that I didn't quality for I called to see if I could just get the baby teeth pulled and how much. I got a call back saying it was for the full price of the dental they quoted me. I'll be reporting them. This is wrong. Sad how they take advantage of pet parents in need and they get free Grants. Not to mention the Attitude I got. The whole time telling me she was doing me a favor. The vet and the vet tech were nice and professional. But that's all. This place has potential to do great things if ran correctly.

I was recommended by Hearts Alive Vet Clinic because they could not fit my dog in till August . I looked up Dr Martinez on Yelp and Google . He had picture of the Same breed as my dog . A white German Shepard . I said Great ! When he came into the room and saw the dog he told my husband "Get The Dog Away From Me Now " we were in shock! Then he said "put a muzzle on him " the visit was very short and brief . We had a blood test taken and supposedly a xray. They said he was dehydrated and gave us meds and we left . If it wasn't for the Vets Assist. We would have immediately left !! I found out he has PTSD of large dogs due to being bitten . It was a bad experience for us as well as the dog . My dog never growls at anyone . But for the first time in 6 years he growled at this man. It was a very negative atmosphere. BTW my dog is still sick !!⁹ Update. ; Don't know what happened when I left my dog there for 2 hours but my Beautiful Dog Died !! Great work Mr. MARTINEZ. P.S. if you don't like dogs . You need to RETIRE !!

The doctor and staff are all quiet friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The doc is very awesome, my Jellybean was treated perfectly and taken care of. I am grateful as to them working with me in covering the cost of what my old lady needed. Definitely recommend.

My pup was seen by Dr Muratore & his assistant Rachel. They both were so wonderful & set my mind at ease. Both had such wonderful bedside manners & u could tell that they really love what they do & truly care about animals. When I left the consultation, I knew my dog would be in the best hands! I would also like to mention Jody, who works with the cats but sometimes answers the phone, that she was equally as awesome as she took all the time necessary to answer all of my questions & u could tell by her caring & friendly demeanor that she too loves what she does & cares about the well being of animals. Five Stars to these amazing professionals! Highly recommend Hearts Alive. 💕 Dr. Muratore will be missed! He no longer works at Hearts Alive & Dr Gauntner performed my dogs surgery. She is highly recommended by the staff.
