How to Save Money at Paw In Hand Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Best vet In town, they were so sweet to my dog and explained everything I needed to know. They also called the morning after his surgery to make sure he was doing okay. Hands down the best vet I’ve ever been to!

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. One member of the staff should be fired. The rudest person I have ever encountered that hung up the phone on me and then lied to the vet about me saying I refused to pay a deposit. Incorrect information from another dog was entered into my dogs record that had my sweet, gentle dog chasing down neighbors, behaving in an aggressive manner and needing sedatives. I had to forward these records to another vet and have them amended to reflect his true nature. Just horrible.

I’ve gone here a few times with my dogs. They went out of their way to check in after my dogs neuter and were patient and understanding when I misunderstood pick-up instructions. They explain the reason for all/any testing and prices are very reasonable. It’s a blessing to have this clinic and thanks to all their staff!

Had a fine first experience with them and then It had to board my dog and when the boarder asked for the shot record it wasn’t showing the bordetella shot on it. Had to call the vet (tried to call for over 30 minutes and they wouldn’t answer ended up having to drive there and they were all at the front desk and told me they don’t answer phones in the morning.) and ask why she didn’t have it and they didn’t explain why she didn’t. But said they could give it to her now but that wasn’t helping my situation. I told them when she first received all her shots to make sure she gets everything she needed. She even got fixed, and they never told me she didn’t receive that shot. Then when I told them never mind I am having to leave and cannot get it for her now if it’s going to make her sick in the car ride, then they acted rude afterwards. Will not go back there.

I wish there were a different rating for the Vet and one for the staff. I would give the DR a 5 but their staff!!!! Wow!! Where do I start; don’t communicate well, indignant, zero empathy and frankly down right rude! There must have been a change somewhere along the line because I read reviews when I first moved here. That is why I chose them. The current office staff has got to be retrained. Zero customer service skills. So arrogant! Sorry folks I could do your job and do it wayyyyy better than you. Be accountable for your actions and maybe apologize. Don’t just tell people, “Oh you signed this!” Maybe say, “I am sorry, I am sure you were probably really stressed that day and we should have gone over things more thoroughly with you.”. You lack the empathetic skills to work in this environment. AND, really think about how people are so unhappy with your lack of service they take the time to write a review like this!!!! I am reading the newer reviews and wow y’all need to do some house cleaning BTW, like I stated , I would give the doc 5 stars
