How to Save Money at Teaneck Animal Clinic and Spa

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Great staffs and doctors! Dr. D and Barbara at the front desk are the best!! My husband and I found these stray kittens and decided to keep them. It was our first time raising cats and they were so helpful with everything! We got kitten package. They're very reasonable with pricing and I can feel that they really care about our furry babies. Dr. D is very gentle with cats too. I highly recommend this place!

My family and I are so thankful to the Teaneck Animal Clinic. Dr D and her staff literally brought my sweet boy back to life. My dog has been suffering from liver and pancreas issues for some time. Back in September, I brought my dog for treatment, I said my goodbyes to him because I thought I was not going to see him ever again. But to my surprise, I was able to bring him back home and he is still here with us. Thank you, thank you! 🐶💙🐾

I wish I had an infinite amount of stars to give to Teaneck Animal Clinic and Spa! Dr. Rybak and Dr. D are excellent veterinarians and everyone in the office are absolute dolls. If you are here reading reviews, it's because you care about your pets; I'm sure you'll find my review relatable, informative, and useful. Excellent care is paramount to me and just like you, I wanted to find a veterinary practice that would provide the utmost quality of care to my furbabies, all 8 of them, and the occasional foster. Every time I have brought one of my babies in for medical care, whether routine or emergency visit, I was always treated with respect and professionalism. Everyone, from the vets to the office staff and techs are very friendly and knowledgeable. This practice has a family feel to it and you will be treated like family and your pets will be treated as if they are their own. This is not like other veterinary offices where your pets go in and out like a production line. Every client and patient is special. That's how I always felt from the first time I walked in. The vet will make recommendations based on the medical chief complaint and after a thorough examination. Always keep in mind that you want the best for your furbaby, so following through with the recommendations is a decision you'll have to think about and make, declining most often than not will have its consequences. I have chosen to follow the vet's recommendations because I trust her knowledge and expertise. One of those cases was when one of our furbabies swallowed almost a whole pound of carpeting and Dr. Rybak performed GI surgery to remove it. It was a very delicate, complicated and invasive surgery but Dr. Rybak saved Duke's life!!! I also see how my furbabies are treated and know that they'll want the best for them just as I do. So why question it? I honestly can't say enough good things about Teaneck Animal Clinic and Spa. I have had pets of my own for 25 years, and have been to numerous vets in the past. I can assure you that until I met Dr. Rybak and her staff three years ago, nobody can ever compare to the level of care they provide. They're unmatchable!

Great staff. They are so friendly and helpful. They took good care of our puppy when we took him in for his first visit. We already made follow up appointments. They're also prompt with their test results. Great communication overall. They text and Email me to confirm the time of my appointments and follow up closer to the day as a reminder. One of the staff members took the initiative to give us info and brochures on different types of pet insurance.

Our dogs are treated like family and actually enjoy going to the vet. I cannot say enough good things. Thank you for being so wonderful to our fury babies.
