How to Save Money at Court Street Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
This place has gone all the way down-hill, quickly.. I used to love bringing my dog in. I even kept using this practice when I moved an hr away. But it's been deteriorating for the last few years & at this point I'd rather have no vet.. The assistant Willow is SO rude, whether shes rolling her eyes at you in person or making snarky comments over the phone. Prices skyrocketed, which they have many excuses for that aren't realistic. (If prices of supplies went up like they claim, why did they charging me triple what the emergency vet did to run LESS tests????) If you haven't yet, please do not waste your time and money here!!!

I have read the positive and negative reviews as I always do. Words can not express the appreciation I have for Dr. Miller and ALL of the staff I have had the pleasure to deal with over the past year with my 5 (now 4 cats). I had the unfortunate decision to allow my oldest to pass recently. Dr Miller and I had covered all reasonable options for her knowing I was more interested in quality of life not quantity of life. All of the staff members understood and were supportive. In the process of taking care of my oldest. I also brought the other 4 in for exams and shots. One of these has a nick name of Murder Paws…. I made sure the entire staff knew she was not to be trusted. Well I felt like a fool when she actually purred during the exam with Dr. Miller. I must also express my appreciation for the compassion and professionalism I experienced with the last day of my beloved oldest. I have had to put down a number of fur babies in my 55+ years. My Nala was a very special girl. The staff were compassionate, patient and empathetic.. I did not know what to expect when my husband picked up her remains. What I received was a true validation of what her life was to me and my family. She came back to me in a beautiful carved box with a medallion of her paw print . More than I had ever expected and this shows the appreciation of how much our fur babies mean to us! Thank you to Court Street Veterinary and Greener pastures for the amazing attention to detail I for one needed in my loss.

They were amazingly kind and gentle and listened to our questions. One of us was having a first time daddy panic attack-they didn’t get frustrated , they were very caring with Willa (1 of our new cats-9mths old.. Sadly they are a little exspensive -$65 examination, $35 rabies shot & they give you a nice certificate and colored tag incase your pet is an outdoor and wears a collar. They estimate for spayed they gave us was $670…BUT I can NOT STRESS ENOUGH THE FRIENDLINESS-compassion and concern these ladies had for the animals…so I believe it’s worth the price ❤️🥰

Where do I start.. I am so very grateful for the entire staff at Court Street Vet.. I have had 4 pets walk through there doors over the years .. Our senior boys Golden & Jake which sadly have both passed within 6 months of each other recently due to old age , our sweet cat Binkley and now our grand-pup Diesel. Dr Russett and Dr Allstop have been amazing with our family. They take the time to explain what they need to, show kindness and true love for our pets and go above and beyond to make sure our pets are comfortable and well cared for. This morning I had a pet emergency with my cat and I already had an appointment in the late afternoon for my grand-pup for his first puppy visit. I left a message for the front desk telling them I was on my way and my cats condition. I arrived at 8:30am and hoped they could help my sweet Binkley .. without hesitation Molly the receptionist had already spoke to Dr Russett and they were prepared to help our kitty and still see our pup in the afternoon. The entire day I was informed as to how Binkley was doing and made aware of the necessary tests that could be done for our cat. I am so very pleased with the entire staff, Sara was so helpful during the initial intake for Binkley and then so very calm and gentle with our little firecracker Diesel in the afternoon. Dr. Russett was so very thorough and took the time to explain everything that I needed to know.. and aftercare options that could be helpful to our cat. I truly cannot say enough about the level of care at Court Street Vet, the absolute best by far for us ! Thank you all so very much ! The Michaud Family

I'm writing this review to try to cancel out one that I had written previously, since I can't seem to figure out how to change that one. I had a pretty bad experience with the receptionist, but Dr Russet called me and personally apologized and reviewed the issues. She was fantastic, and I really appreciated the way she responded to my concerns. It says a lot about a business.
