How to Save Money at Bedford Pet Urgent Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Was seen last night with my dog Penny for an issue that I didn’t think could wait until the next morning. The entire staff was so kind and efficient. The vet we saw was absolutely wonderful. She explained everything thoroughly and thoughtfully. It’s always scary when you have to take your pet for an issue, but this office made me feel so at ease. We were in and out within an hour. That was with treatment and medications to go home with. Highly recommend for pet owners that can’t be seen by their regular vet or have after hour needs! Thanks again!

My dog had an ear infection and I couldn’t get him in with his regular vet during the week, so we had to go in on a Saturday evening. The veterinarian was wonderful, however the older receptionist with the glasses was very rude upon my boyfriend and I entering with our dog. She ignored our presence for about 5 minutes and then proceeded to ask if we had an appointment despite us calling ahead and being told to come in as a walk in. She made it seem as if we were unwelcome and told us we were going to wait a very long time in a condescending tone. There was only one other person in the waiting room. Her tone was so impolite that the vet tech behind her even made a sympathetic face. Unfortunately I will avoid returning unless absolutely necessary because of the poor customer service at the front desk.

Very disappointed and shocked with our experience at Bedford Urgent care. Our puppy was having a severe reaction to something with face swelling up and us terrified her breathing was getting affected. We tried calling them while we were enroute there at 7: 35 - no answer. They close at 8:00. We flew through the doors at 7:50 with our puppy and we're greeted by cold stares. We asked for help and got " Do you know where the pet urgent care is on Brown Ave. In Manchester?" My husband said "you are open for 10 more minutes". Then she just said "Sorry". Unbelievable!!!! No one was even in the waiting room! Our puppy could have stopped breathing any second! I would never recommend this place to anyone! Luckily we made it to the ER on Brown Ave and we were greeted warmly and they took our pup immediately. She'll be ok!

Highly recommend! The team we had for our Pit Bull Rey today was amazing. Truly this was the best vet experience Rey has ever had.

I would absolutely recommend this urgent care for cases where your primary is closed but you don’t need to go to the emergency vet! The whole team was so kind and patient and I was able to call in and get an appointment time no problem. They were thorough with their examination and gave me multiple care options based on their findings. I felt listened to and even though my dog isn’t a fan of strangers, they still did all they could to make him comfortable. I will absolutely be coming here again in future cases where my dog may need it!
