How to Save Money at Drivethru Vet at DIFTWOOD
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I’ve nothing but great things to say about driftwoods boarding! My dog has such a great time when she’s there and is so taken care of. She’s not a fan of new places away from home but driftwood is definitely her home away from home. We haven’t used their vet services yet but we definitely plan on using their drive thru vet since my dog has anxiety with vets. Thank you driftwood for being my dogs safe place away from home.

I can't say enough positive things about Driftwood Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Tony Moravec and the vet techs were phenomenal in diagnosing and treating our beloved pet. They are professional, compassionate and efficient. We were so glad to see our pet rally and have quality of life in his end stages due to the treatment plan Dr. Tony gave us. Unfortunately, our pet passed away recently due to multiple health complications. Dr. Tony and his team gave us another 6 weeks with our fur baby Gunner and for that we are so grateful. We had time to spend with him and say goodbye. I would highly recommend Driftwood Veterinary clinic with no reservations. Doug & Kelly Silva

Dr. Tony and the staff at Driftwood are caring and always take their time with each patient. You can tell the staff really connect with each pet and love them like their own. We also really appreciate the drivethru set up, as it removes all the stress we have had at previous vets of waiting in a lobby full of other anxious pets. Having pet daycare included with your vet checkups is also very convenient, as I am able to drop off my pet in the morning and pick up in the afternoon when I am available.

Phenomenal. Though the circumstances as to why we had to take our beloved dog weren’t great, driftwood staff was so kind. Highly recommend as it is an unconventional vet but they make it so easy for the drop off and pick up!

We are so happy that we found Driftwood Vet. My senior dog Sophie is almost 15 years old and belonged to my grandma before my grandma passed, so as you can imagine I only want the absolute best care for her, which we found here. We have always previously made the drive out of town to her original vet however after the love and care we received at Driftwood, we will be back for any future visits. The staff was kind, friendly and professional and the doctor was very knowledgeable, caring and empathetic. He listened to my concerns and I could feel that he genuinely cared about her health. He managed to get her in the same day as it was an emergency, and she is now back to normal after her fever and many other concerning symptoms. We went through many emotions with her being a senior dog and now feel so grateful and happy seeing her bounce back so quickly. The doctor explained everything so well and helped me to understand the bloodwork results, the medicine, etc. They emphasized the importance of their follow up which was another indicator of how much they truly care about the animals they service. The drive thru service was not only more comfortable for Sophie, but for me as well as I struggle with anxiety and felt like it completely took off any stress of checking in. We are so happy we found Driftwood, we will feel relieved about any future visits, knowing Sophie will be in loving and caring hands!
