How to Save Money at Brentwood Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Pretty upset to be honest. I enjoyed taking my ex boyfriend’s dog here. However, we broke up and he still had the dog. It has always been his dog (he had him a year before we started dating). They told me when I made the dogs first appointment that I had to be primary to bring him into care. They then told me at the next appointment that I could just be listed on the file and that my ex would be primary so I asked them to change it not only for their records but for legality purposes so he can prove ownership of the dog when we broke up. Apparently they failed to do this. I tried making an appointment with them for my dog, who I adopted on my own, and they wouldn’t let me make an appointment without paying an “outstanding balance” on my ex’s account. Even though I explained the situation to them they won’t budge. So they can call him and I’ve gone my separate ways. Just leaving this review for the good girlfriends or boyfriends out there that want to help ensure their spouses animals are vaccinated, that this place will try to screw you over.

Every time I went for my dog the front people were usually nice but sometimes seems like they do not care what the customers had to say! I think the doctor’s name was Dr. Hild whatever it was she was lazy and did not want to see my dog if he didn’t have his trazodone (calming meds) didn’t even want to try… my dog has very bad anxiety so our first day we came in he was nervous, barked, and seemed like he did not like the place but for me I just thought it was his anxiety, when the doctor came she kept her distance and didn’t try to even get to know my dog. When she took him back she came back and told me he wounded some of her staff but made it seem like he was a monster because he has never bit anyone, so she gave us trazodone to try starting with 2 then came back for ear meds and vaccines another day and said she couldn’t do again because he was too hyper so she boosted the trazodone to 4…he did better and she came back saying it was good… then i recently just went there and forgot to give his trazodone but he has seen them many times..he’s barking less and is used to the place more etc. I ask if we can still try and the front desk lady says she will ask, and she comes back saying the doctor said to reschedule without even trying first…then the lady tells me that there was trazodone plus gabapuntin and I asked what was that one and she said the doctor put it in the notes and said she talked to me about it…I said um no she didn’t and the lady says well it’s written on the notes in her handwriting but I was not going to drug my dog up more just because the doctor can’t handle him so I did not buy it… I work at a boarding place and deal with worse dogs than my dog and they can’t even handle him!!!! YOU ARE A VET STOP ACTING AFRAID OF DOGS THAT HAVE ANXIETY OR BARK LOUD!!! I have more stories of how bad this place is but just be careful on which place to go to for your dog make sure they treat you and your dog right and make sure you don’t give your dog too many meds!! Trust your gut if it’s telling you something listen!

Very disappointed with their customer service. First time calling to inquire about prices and lady on the phone didn’t know what the heck she was talking about. She didn’t know about prices or anything about her job. Not only she didn’t know about anything about her job, she also brush me off the phone and proceeded to tell me to go online and fill a form, etc, in order for them to call me with prices. Then she proceeded to also tell me she needed to get off the phone to assist other customers! Like really lady?! So what am I?! A cup of coffee or something?! I was a potential new customer not anymore!

We love Brentwood! All the staff are super friendly and my picky poodle mix is always happy to come here! As someone in the animal care industry, I really appreciate how clear and direct Dr.Hill is! She is super knowledgeable and I always leave with a little more knowledge than I did coming in. The price is incredibly reasonable, and I recommend Brentwood to all my clients and friends. Thanks for taking care of Tucker!
