How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Never ever will I ever ever recommend this place to anyone nor ever take a animal there if it were on its death bed on the side of the road a block away from banfield animal hospital.$1,300 dollars later with no answers and no correct medication my dog is now corrected over chicken and rice. This is the second time they got me and it will be the last. There are plenty of other places that will truly take care of your family member.your doors were shut down in statesville and I can't wait for your shop to close in hickory.

We have been going to this Banfield for well Over a year, the people here are absolutely amazing I have one Dog and one Cat and we refuse to go anywhere else. They treat my Furbabies like one of their own and are kind and courteous. They don't treat my babies like transactions and they give us the cheapest options for care first. Always are super transparent before any care is given. Needless to say, 5 stars is well deserved. Highly recommend.

After 7 years of being with Banfield I have decided to take all of my pets and leave. The turnover rate for vets is insane. I never recognize a face. The last time I was in here I was told that my pet may have a heart murmur and to go see a cardiologist that was $600 JUST for an exam, not treatment itself. I was told nothing else. The doctor was not rude, however. I decided to get a second opinion as this did not sit well with me. I took my pet to Troutman Animal Hospital, as it was recommended to me by a family friend, and they were phenomenal! They were very welcoming & the doctor was great. My pet can be very anxious and he was very calm/patient with her. He also explained that he didn't hear much at all. He didn't think that there was heart murmur and that if there was it would be grade one. He explained everything to me and said that he personally would not spend $600 at a cardiologist at this point. I LOVED the honesty of this location. I love Banfields receptionists and nurses, but the doctors are never the same and it seems this place only wants money. I pay almost $110 a month for my pets insurance and it really doesn't cover anything extra beyond the basics. You'll personally make out better going to a local vet.

Front desk was amazing. They made us feel welcome. Dr. Carli. Williams was very pleasant as was the technician on 1/26/23. When we returned on Monday the front desk was just as awesome as ever. Everything seemed pretty routine. Bruno went to the back but then some random technician came and asked if I was aware of the cost of his medical care... Black male with bully breed/ sweats and and hoodie. Am I overreacting? Was it just an unusually large bill and just out of the norm or were was this just a good ol profiling case? This is how you lose customers. Bruno and I didn't come for free health care. Stop.

Just made my first appointment with this new Veterinarian pet hospital here in Mooresville North Carolina, we’ll see how the appointment goes. Unfortunately they are booked up until Thursday morning for only a drop off. Today is Monday morning and my Kona is not feeling very well from throwing up earlier this morning. Fingers crossed. Update: Kona is feeling better and let me just say but wow, this staff team is amazing compared to the Dublin California team. The level of excellent customer service is top notch, these ladies all have great personalities and exhibits wonderful professionalism. They made me feel welcomed during my first interactions, explained all of the care and treatments that they gave to my Kona and my checking out went very smooth. They even allowed me to include other family members on a three way call during my payment process, I’m changing my four stars from four to…⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
