How to Save Money at North Churton Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Miller and the staff were great with our puppy needing surgery and care. We were happy with their followup calls and service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to care for your pet.

I had my (very large) pig spayed with Dr. Miller and Dr. Mozzachio last year. They were so gentle with my girl. No post op surgery complications. From the front desk to the nurses and doctors, both my pig and I had a wonderful experience. Thank you all for taking such good care of my Rona!!!

I am a 2nd generation Dr. Miller devotee. I have heard horror stories about things people have experienced at vets, so when we moved to Greensboro (45 min away) there was no question in my mind we would be making that drive to take our pets to the same vet my parents have for years. I trust Dr. Miller implicitly with my babies and he has never shown anything but kindness, expert knowledge, and the willingness to do anything it would take to care of my animals as if they were his own. I’m so grateful to have wormed my way into his practice via my folks 🙂. Also, it should be mentioned that the first person you’ll see when you go into the office is Debby, who might be the loveliest human alive. She will instantly help ease any of your anxiety or fear. If you could tell from the rest of this review, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Miller and his team to anyone and will continue to bring our pets here for care.

Since moving to the area three years ago, I have found the professionalism and attentive care provided by Dr. Leslie and Dr. Miller to be among the best my pets and I have ever received. I have a pack of five dogs and the entire staff at North Churton Animal Hospital knows each of them by name. I've come to NCAH for everything from routine vaccines to emergency surgery, and they have been thorough, comforting and precise every step of the way. My dog Brutus recently had a mystery illness and hadn't been eating his food for days. Dr. Miller correctly diagnosed his condition (which was a rare one) during a critical stage in his illness. I think Brutus not have made it if not for Dr. Miller's quick diagnosis and treatment plan. My dogs all know Dr. Leslie so well, that they actually wag their tails when I say "It's time to go to the vet." Her outstanding surgery skills with my little girl, Greta, ensured that she recovered safely and quickly after her spay. The detailed follow-up and care instructions provided by the staff lets me know that everyone is on the same page. It really feels like they are all family, and they make you feel like family, too. This has not always been the case with some of my previous veterinarian offices. I can call any time with questions and they are happy to answer and research even my most vague concerns. I highly recommend them as your pets' primary care provider.

When I first moved to Hillsborough I thought word of mouth might be a very good way to find out who our new veterinarian would be. Literally everyone I asked said North Churton Animal Hospital so that is who I teamed up with for the care of my three Chihuahuas (ages 15, 12 and 12). Two of my three have serious heart issues so I couldn't trust their care to just anyone. I met with Dr. Leslie one day so we could discuss the care of my dogs and from that day on, I knew she was the vet for us. I didn't have to look any further. She has placed my dogs on several meds all of which have given them extra years and good years at that! I'm forever grateful for the fact that she cares. Her staff is wonderful! They are always so very nice and I know you won't find better care for your beloved pets anywhere else. I adore each and every one for helping my beloved fur kids and for CARING...I updated this just a bit today - 3 1/2 years later. I wish I could express to anyone reading this just what Dr. Leslie and her associates have meant to me. They have literally meant the world to me and I will never, ever forget their endless kindnesses towards my babies and towards me.
