How to Save Money at Animal Medical Centre Of Greensboro

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. My dogs & cat enjoy going to the office too, their tails start wagging when they see the staff. This wasn't the case at their previous veterinarian offices, I'd have to pull them through the door, and their tail would be down and sometimes they would shake. I love this office and have referred my Sister, both daughters and my friends to them. Everyone that I've sent to them has had nothing but great things to say about their experiences with them. They offer the best customer served to me and my pets, They Care! The last thing that I have to say about this office is Their Prices are very Reasonable. They don't do unnecessary tests or procedures. They help you decide what's best for you and your pet. If you have a furbaby and live on a budget, do yourself a favor, Take your four legged family member to visit this wonderful office.

We have taken our cockapoo, Baby Girl, to Animal Medical Centre Of Greensboro since 2016 when she was a puppy. Ever since our first visit at this veterinary office, we have been very pleased and happy with the care and treatment that is given and shown to Baby Girl. Dr. Chappell has always been very thorough in his examinations and takes the time, patiently, to explain anything that we may not understand. The veterinary technicians have always been real patient and caring with Baby Girl. Like some other pets, Baby Girl gets very nervous (continuously shaking even when we have her wrapped in a towel) when we take her to the vet. Dr. Chappell and the technicians are great and supportive at making Baby Girl more relaxed and more calm. The veterinary receptionists have all been very helpful, pleasant, and friendly, in person and on the phone. The examination rooms are always clean and smell nice. The lobby has also been clean and well-maintained. Baby Girl broke a nail a couple years ago and she had to undergo surgery. The receptionists were excellent at keeping me updated on her progress the day of surgery and were very helpful and understanding anytime I called the hospital inquiring about Baby Girl’s condition. Dr. Chappell did a fantastic job repairing Baby Girl’s broken nail. She had to have her foot and part of her leg bandaged for a few days while her incision healed. The bandages were applied very well and we never had any problems with the bandages becoming loose or unraveling while she was wearing them. There is a large fish tank in the lobby which is relaxing to look at. I would definitely recommend Animal Medical Center Of Greensboro to anyone looking for a veterinary hospital that will treat and care for your beloved pet the way you would want them treated.

This place took me in when nobody else would. I had to go to an emergency vet over night because my cat was attacked by a dog and needed an emergency eye removal. My own established vet wouldn’t even take me in but this place did! They did emergency surgery that same day and took amazing care of her for 3 days! They tolerated my countless worried phone calls and were super nice every single time. Prices were also fair. I highly recommend!

There is not a more caring, compassionate veterinarian and staff anywhere around! The level of care the pets receive exceeds well above and beyond all the other clinics and the cost of care is affordable! This is the only clinic I will ever trust with the health of my furry children!
