How to Save Money at Ashley Creek Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We've taken our cat here for years and they are amazing with her, she is epileptic so she needs extra care and they go above and beyond. We just had to put our dog down and they were caring, compassionate and took care of everything for us. I would recommend anyone to take there pet here and be confident that they are in good caring hands.

We took our doberman puppy to see Dr. Lambert at Ashley Creek to get her ears cropped on April 4, 2022. We're from Alberta and cosmetic procedures like that are no longer allowed, so we made the drive into Kalispell to get it done. Dr. Lambert and the team at Ashley Creek were so wonderful, getting our pup in first thing in the morning. There was a storm rolling through and they knew we had a long drive ahead, so they prioritized our pup and she was ready for a pick up at 11am. She came out of surgery great and even managed to con a couple meatballs out of one of the techs as soon as she was able to have a bite to eat. She slept the entire way back to Alberta and was back to her normal self the following day. Her recovery was flawless and we used to a local vet to remove the stitches a few weeks later. The hardest part of this entire procedure was keeping her semi-calm for a few days following the surgery. We've been posting for a couple weeks now and her ears are already standing on their own. Dr. Lambert did an absolutely amazing job, the crop suits our pup just beautifully and the recovery was a breeze. Highly recommend this clinic and will be returning with any future doberman pups we have.

I had the unfortunate experience to be forced to say "goodbye" to our beloved17 1/2 yr old black cat named "Snowball". No matter the circumstances or how many beloved pets my husband & I have had to let t go to their final resting place, this is so very painful. Everyone at Ashley Creek treated me & Snowball with the greatest compassion. A beautiful comfort room for us and all the time I needed to say goodbye. Snowball's ashes will be returned to us to bury on our property alongside her siblings who've gone before. Rates were more than reasonable. Thank you everyone at Ashley Creek.

If we could give Dr. Lambert, Susan & Kay at Ashley Creek 6 stars we would. We brought our two 15-year-old cats to them when another clinic had tried to send the girl cat home after she was circling in her cage all day. They did not contact us to ask if this was unusual behavior, they just let it happen and sent her home with us. We demanded they take another look, and FINALLY determined she was circling from a stroke and possible brain damage, which they left untreated all day. Dr. Jessup from Ashley Creek was the weekend veterinarian at the Flathead Pet Emergency Clinic (that place is another gift from God to our community) and she and the staff there did everything humanly possible to treat our girl. When she finally passed, we immediately transferred her brother to Ashley Creek's care, and they nursed him through the last three very difficult months of his life. Their concern and advice was ALWAYS the same as ours: Every recommendation was based on what would provide the best quality of life and least amount of pain for our boy. When we finally found out last night he was not going to get better for a third time since Christmas, they were so compassionate in helping us to send him quietly, respectfully, and peacefully to be with his sister. Ashley Clinic is the best animal clinic we have ever experienced in decades of pet ownership. From Kay at the front desk who remembers you by name, to the wonderful nurses who have incredible passion for the animals that clearly shows as they transfer pets and take notes with proactive listening skills, to Dr. Lambert's care, conversations with easy to understand explanations, detailed choices that always focused on our cat's care and comfort. God bless every member of the Ashley Creek Animal Clinic staff, and their wonderful caring crematory service just a few steps from the clinic. If you want to know what the number one animal clinic regular hour animal clinic in the Flathead...take your cherished pets to Ashley Creek.
