How to Save Money at 360 Pet Medical

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Ruth Stafford and the wonderful, caring staff at 360 Pet Medical have been caring for our dogs for more than 10 years. They are thoughtful, caring, insightful, attentive professionals in every aspect of their practice. Our dogs are furry members of our family and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding care for the furry members of their family.

I cannot say enough great things about 360 Pet Medical! Every single person there is so kind and caring. They truly go above and beyond in every way. I just adopted the sweetest senior dog, Lilah, and due to the neglect from her previous owners she is very obese. I loved the compassion Dr. McDonald and all the staff had for her, there was zero judgment from them, only love and kind words. Being new to dog ownership, I had a lot of questions, and Dr. McDonald took the time to answer every single one. They also helped me get Lilah back into my car and showed me proper technique, which was so appreciated. Lilah is signed up for Hydrotherapy in a couple weeks, and I can't wait to see what that does for her! I'm so grateful that Lilah has such a wonderful vet clinic to go to.

Couldn't get my dog in for a same-day appointment to have his mouth looked at, but they were able to take him as a "walk-in" and see him between appointments. He was taken such good care of, I don't think he even missed me during his stay. Thanks for giving our guy so much love!

360 takes amazing care of my 1.5 year old pup (we see Dawn McDonald). They really stepped up to the plate with my dog who I lost August 2021. First, he got mauled while we were hiking by another dog and they were able to get his neck stapled shut and he healed and was just fine. Shortly after, his kidneys started failing. It was the worst and hardest time in my life—had the dog almost 15 years. They took excellent care of him and helped coach us through his final days. One of the vets who was helping out seasonally even let my dog go home with her overnight because I didn’t want him to be alone in a crate at the ER. They also referred us to a great service called Peaceful Journeys and we were able to say goodbye to him in our home, which we really appreciated.

360 Pet Medical goes above and beyond to insure both you and your pet have a great experience. They are friendly, prompt and caring. My visit was to see Dr McDowell with my yellow lab. Stella was literally given the Red Carpet Treatment as she was terrified walking on tile floors. I am a very particular person when it comes to my dog and I can assure you Dr McDowell exceeded in all my expectations. She is thorough, knowledgeable, trusting and very compassionate. Rest comfortably knowing your pet is in excellent hands with this vet service. I am!!’ Thank you.
