How to Save Money at Animal Clinic of Billings
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I bring my dog here for all of his health needs. I first found this place after adopting my dog and getting a physical. They were very informative and will spend extra time making sure I'm comfortable/ understand what I need to do to help my dog after we leave. He has a very playful personality so anytime that changes, I take him in and they know exactly what's bothering him. I especially appreciate when it comes to something I'm concerned about, they find a way to get him seen as soon as possible. From general check ups, ear infections, dietary issues, and major surgery they have been helpful and above all else caring! As far as price wise, they are VERY reasonably priced and are flexible in helping you with payment options. I'd also keep an ear out for when they do discount services. (I was able to get dental work done for my dog who REALLY needed it during a discount time and it helped me beyond measure!) Lastly, even if I haven't taken my dog in in a while, they know him immediately and call him by name. My dog can be a bit anxious and scared going in, but he's in high spirits when leaving. I love this place and trust them to help my best friend when I can't.

Dr. Brown and Dr. Scott have saved my dog more times than I'd like to remember. Between the TPLO surgery on both knees, Rhinitis, and Pneumonia, he's been through the ringer. He's a 12.5 year old Heeler-Catahoula and despite all of this, he's still going strong. This last time, it wasn't looking promising, but Dr. Scott pulled a miracle off and thankfully our Jasper is better than ever! We are blessed to have these amazing Dr's. We will always recommend ACB!

Our 11 year old dog had a knee replacement done; it has given her 3 more years of excellent quality of life and she is STILL going strong! Dr. Brown and staff were amazing. Compassionate, skilled and trustworthy. They treat our dogs as if they are their own. I only trust them with our beloved furry family members!!

***ATTENTION*** Animal clinic of Billings, a worthy, rare gem of a place to talk about, deserves 10 stars not just 5. The staff is amazing; you really see they truly care about your pets starting the moment you walk in the door. You are welcomed by a smile from people who love their jobs and love animals, small and big. Next is the very knowledgeable, caring, loving veterinarians that see your pet........Dr. Scott and Dr. Brown. Amazing people. They saved my 8 year old boxer's life when all other vets and myself had given up. She had to have 3 blood transfusions and exploratory surgery as well as biopsies to check for cancer; found that the issue was a toxin she had gotten into as tests came back. Dr. Scott, the best vet in the world in my opinion, did not give up and even reached out to other vets, to find the right concoction of medication to treat all that was happening. She was a very special and difficult case. The care she received while there was so exquisite. Dr. Scott and Dr. Brown are very good at explaining diagnosis and treatment in terms you can understand. I even heard that one of the staff was laying in the kennel with my girl to comfort her after her exploratory surgery. The after care is also worth mentioning, as they call to see how things are going after you have went home with your pet. They truly care and every moment you can see and feel this, no matter the reason you are there. I'm very satisfied with their services. I trust them completely! My 5 hour drive there was absolutely worth it and I feel so lucky to have found them. ***my girl is doing very well now, turned 9 in March, and is back to her usual self***
