How to Save Money at Fur Baby's Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
My friends dog was having puppies and the first was still born and the second was blocking it so none could be born and all died inside her. Ladybugs owner is a little older woman on social security and couldn't afford the 1500 other vets wanted for C-section. We contact an amazing rescue who was helping us and we were told to go to FURBABYS . We arrived and the girls behind the desk told us they were closed . I told them who we had been working with and she said she wasn't told and they are closed and to leave. First.. these were snotty little girls who obviously have not had the love of a pet because if they had they know they are a member of a family. Second dealing with a pet emergency is not fun and all they seem to care about is if they were closed. Never ever have I've been treated so rudely then at this establishment. I highly recommend that if you take your animal there to stop or if you're thinking about taking an animal there don't. My friends dog died today!

I am responding to the post about Ladybug, The dachshund and Theresa Dedeaux’s negative review of this AMAZING Veterinary Hospital. This is Wild at Heart Rescue. We are WILDLIFE RESCUE only. Every single day we get up to a dozen pleas for help With dogs and cats, puppies and kittens. We make a post on a personal Facebook page, not the wildlife one, To see if the community can assist with fostering, or medical care of such animals. When we got the frantic plea for this dog, she had already been in severe distress for almost 4 days. We had been texting throughout that day As we knew very concerned animal lovers would donate for her care. They would call the vet hospital where she was receiving emergency treatment. At 1 o’clock I sent a text message to the owners requesting that they contact FurBaby’s. They replied at 4:30 saying they were on their way there. When I said please call them to make sure, they said they had tried to call. I know for a fact that everybody there returns calls if a message is left. When they got there it was 5 o’clock. Closing time. It takes a big team to perform a spay/section On a healthy dog, it takes a big team and a much longer time frame to perform a spay/section On a dog who is septic from having a puppy hanging out of her for almost 4 days. The 15 minutes it took to get from Furbabys to The veterinary hospital in Biloxi did not make a difference on the outcome. That poor pup suffered since Monday. She passed away pain-free. I am very sorry of this outcome, however, Pet owners must take some responsibility for their actions. I cannot fathom the amount of pain that that poor pup endured for days on end. It’s not any veterinarian’s fault. I am very disappointed that a bad review was left. That is uncalled for. Another thing that is uncalled for, is the fact that the community came together to donate for this pups surgery, and they couldn’t even post a Thank You. The owners have not contacted us, or the vet hospital who still has their deceased pup since this incident. There is a balance remaining on that emergency hospital visit, yet they have not taken Any responsibility as of yet for their Pet’s condition or the medical bill. It’s very shameful. I apologize to FurBaby’s. You all spend every waking moment caring for and saving the lives of so many. Yet They are going to give a negative review. It is infuriating to me. You all just keep on being the absolute amazing veterinarians and human beings that you are. Because this world is a much better place because of y’all. And I for one happen to adore each of you.

If there was an option for more stars I would give them more! I highly recommend Fur Baby's, they are awesome. Cost was very affordable and they really are there for the animals. The 2 ladies up front greeted us with compassion and got my baby in very quick. He was a first time patient and they worked him in told there may be a long wait, but we went straight to a room and the vet was in there in less than a minute. The vet sat on the floor with him and made him feel comfortable, earned his trust with a treat and really explained to me what was going on. I will definitely take all pets there from now on. Thank you to the staff of Fur Baby's! Yall are great!!

I use fur babies because Dr. Jason and Alice are great. Well my last visit we seen neither. They had this new woman, she's by far no Jason or Alice. She gave my baby all kinds of meds. Bill was over 400.00 I get home look at the med's half of them she doesn't need. I call to bring them back they are in sealed boxes never opened. They say I can't. Needless to say my baby will not be going back. You would think they would take care of customer before losing one. True colors have been revealed. FDA does not allow is a lie. You can take back unopen, unused medication.
