How to Save Money at Arch Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Due to a last-minute, unexpected need for one of my pups, Archie, we were forced to try out a new veterinarian clinic. What began as an inconvenience has turned into a wonderful new, trusted relationship. Since that first visit, we’ve been there with my other pup for an ear infection. Dr. Mike and staff were, again, fantastic. My Leo is quite nervous when going to the vet, and they were all very loving, patient, and tender with him. Dr. Mike gives generously of both his time and knowledge. From that first phone call to exiting my recent appointment, Arch Animal Hospital hasn’t missed a beat. Many thanks to the whole staff! *Oh! And the app they have is amazing! So user-friendly and convenient, and their response time when reaching out via chat is remarkable!

Dr. Mike, all the vets and staff are top notch! Can’t recommend this place enough, seriously. The love and care they have for animals is above and beyond and I love the personal, one on one attention they give my doggie when we’re there is so sweet ❤️

I’ve been going to Arch animal hospital for around 10 years with zero complaints along the way. The staff is very friendly and professional and takes great care of both my cat and dog. As soon as I arrive, I feel like they care about my pets almost as much as I do. The facility is clean And very well organized. I’ve always been happy with Arch and will continue to go as long as I have pets.

We have four dogs so it seems like we are regularly in contact with the staff at Arch. They could not be more friendly or supportive in our times of need. From the minute you walk in the door, you feel welcomed and heard. The veterinarians are knowledgeable, professional, kind, and caring. They are very transparent about pricing and costs, so there are no surprises at the end of the visit. We could not give them a higher recommendation!

Recently our family came to the heartbreaking decision that it was time to say goodbye to our sweet Bruno. Bruno joined us in 2012 and has been an important part of our family. We wanted the end to be private and with as much dignity as possible so we arranged for a vet to come to the house three days later. Sadly Bruno declined far more rapidly than we could have imagined and we couldn’t wait for the home vet. Desperate to end his suffering and devastated about the situation, we called our vet of 12 years (a different business) and asked to bring him in for an emergency appointment. They were unable to accommodate us, which added to the shock and sadness. Luckily, we reached out to Arch Animal Hospital hoping for the best since we had never been there. They were kind, compassionate, and invited us to come in right away. When we arrived they met us at our car with a stretcher and led us inside to a private space. This was a warm, welcoming room with a couch and plenty of space to sit with Bruno. They mourned with us and compassionately asked necessary questions. They described exactly what would happen, and gave us as much time alone as we needed wanted. When the time came, his dignity was respected as we had wanted. In our grief and sadness, it was the best we could have hoped for. There was even a back door to leave to avoid seeing other people and fur babies. Their follow up has been equally kind. We are forever grateful to the amazing staff at Arch Animal Hospital, and we are transferring the care of our other fur baby to them as our new vet. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation to this place!
