How to Save Money at Silvervine Cat Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I LOVED my cat vet in Texas and was nervous about finding one in Minnesota I liked just as much. I have found this in Silvervine Cat Clinic! Best care and affordable pricing! I have also never seen my kitty so calm at the vet! Brandon would like to give a 10 star review but that is not possible. You will not want another vet for your felines after you experience this clinic!

I have a blind cat who gets very upset when going to the vet since she gets pretty defensive around strangers. Dr. Mekka was patient and loving with her, and the methods and process they use work well to minimize stress on her. My other cat normally is very afraid when going to the vet. He is pretty submissive and cooperates, but you can tell it is out of fear. By the end of our first visit, however, he was rubbing up against everyone with a happy tail in the air. After our visits, Dr. Mekka continues to stay in contact via email to follow up on things and give recommendations. It is definitely above and beyond what I am normally used to with a vet. She really cares about my cats!

As much as my cat may never want to go to the vet, I sure love it here! Pictured is my girl Molly on the way to the vet, pretending she's a rock because rocks don't need doctors, and after, finally pain-free and happy. My cat means everything to me and I wouldn't want to bring her anywhere else. The entire staff is wonderful and Dr Mekka is very skilled, informative, and an obvious cat lover/ whisperer. The interior is beautifully cat-themed, and surprisingly immaculate for the cat hair I'm sure is shed constantly. I've never seen a single unclean surface in all my visits- not even the places where I KNOW cats have been recently. (Once I was there around 10am and my cat shed all over the floor and counter, and when I came back just a few hours later, the same room we were in was spotless again, so I know they're not JUST doing end-of-day cleaning) They also go the extra mile to create a calming environment for all kitties with Feliway throughout the building, recordings of calming sounds specifically for cats, or "cat music", and a free Silvervine ball to take home after the visit (if you aren't familiar, Silvervine is like catnip but with less WILD reactions, they just love it!) which is cute considering the name of the clinic! The staff checks in with you by text the day after every visit, offers a chance for you to ask any and all questions (imagine if human doctors had this service?! It would be a game changer!) and after certain procedures, they ask you to return for a complimentary checkup regarding that procedure. My cat had some dental work this month and the cost of the whole procedure-- including pre-op bloodwork to make sure anesthesia was a safe option at this time-- was actually really reasonable and affordable, especially considering all they did for her before and after. I am incredibly glad I found this place and you will be too! (I can't guarantee your cat will *always* feel the same way, but cats are stubborn😅)

I took my recently adopted cat, Gladys to see Dr. Mekka, and I have to say that I was impressed. We were welcomed warmly, and never felt like things were rushed. I was impressed with how much time was spent with my girl, and how her comfort was at the forefront of everyone's minds. I feel very comfortable bringing my precious girl to see Dr. Mekka and her staff, and I think they are wonderful. Highly recommend.

Best veterinarian we have ever been to. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Took great care of our cat. Our cat had been red tagged and we were not able to get her the help she needed with other vets. Clinic was very clean, technology updated, and just overall a really pleasant experience. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you want the best for your feline friend this is the place to go to.
