How to Save Money at City Cat Clinic & Condos
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Wonderful, wonderful place! I have been bringing my cats here for quite a few years. Everyone is so great, prices are competitive, and they know what felines need specifically. No loud barking dogs while you wait. :)

This is by far the best vet we have found in the cities when it comes to cats. I've been taking my cat here a few years now and have seen both the dr.'s and there both very professional they take time to get to know you and your cat helping make every one feel more comfortable. They had to give us a referral for an ultrasound which we ran in to a few problems but they were there to fix it each step of the way and always remember me when I call or come in. They even called every day they were open to check on him up until we got him in for his ultrasound. If you have cats you really love them don't hesitate to bring them to a vet that truly cares about the well-being of your loved one.

This is a great place to board cats since it is cat-centric (it only caters to cats)! The clinic is clean and has no detectable odor. The staff is absolutely amazing and you can tell they truly care about what they do! One perk of boarding your cat here is that there's an on-site vet if anything comes up. The multi-level "cat condos" is are spacious and have windows so the cats can see out and watch the fish and the people in the office, yet they are private enough that they are still quiet for the cats. You are also allowed to bring in toys and small reminders of home to put in your cats condo. The price is a bit on the high side, but if you want peace of mind while you're gone then look no further!

City Cat Clinic is staffed by the most wonderful people. The vet techs are kind and friendly. My cats see Dr. Strom - she is so thorough at explaining things but in a way that anyone can understand her. I cannot recommend this vet enough! Edit: just got back from another trip to the vet and I can't say enough how great everyone is there. They know my sweet boys by name and give them so much love and care whenever I go. Wish I could give you 500 stars

The City Cat Clinic has been a wonderful experience. Dr. Steffen Runquist and her staff are caring, compassionate, and optimistic. I began going to this clinic in the fall of 2016, after becoming frustrated with my previous clinic's lack of empathy. Dr. Runquist and her staff called me frequently to check in on my cat, always genuine and truly interested in his condition. Unfortunately, Silas had small-cell lymphoma and has recently passed on. I am so grateful to have discovered the City Cat Clinic. My cat's life was definitely extended because of the care we received. I also appreciated the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It was so nice not to have barking dogs. I highly recommend this clinic. Thank You!
