How to Save Money at Country Garden Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I'll rate them 5 stars over and over again. I drive 2 hours just to go here because Dr. D is an absolute angel. She's done so much for my ferrets. More than the emergency clinic ever could. Every single staff member is caring and compassionate. Not to mention they adore my boys.

Dr. D and her staff are so outstanding beyond words. First..I called out of the blue after searching for months for a veterinarian that would neuter my Flemish Giant Bunny for less than 700.00 between a well check and the actual surgery. Second..my poor boy was already extremely uncomfortable because all of the places I had already called and booked him with were months and months out. So while we waited, I kept searching and my carpets were going to ruin as my big boy had begun pottying everywhere I would sit or hang out. He's spoiled rotten, so I diligently continued to just clean up after him and pray for an answer before we moved into our new home. This answer came in the form of a referral to Country Garden!!! I called and explained our situation and they not only scheduled my "Artful Dodger" right away as a new patient, but their prices were better than any other place I called in Michigan, Indiana or Ohio. To top it off, the office is beautiful, the staff are wonderful and Dr. D is absolutely amazing. My Artful Dodger was terrified upon arrival and Dr. D got right on the floor with him and he fell in love with her. He doesn't do that normally, and it made it much more calm for his ride home and his trip back to see her for actual surgery. I will never take my pets anywhere else! This place is the absolute best!

Very knowledgeable staff, especially if you have exotic animals. This is where I take my sugar gliders and I have never had an issue with any of their surgeries or getting them taken care of when needed. I do feel they’re a little little bit more on the pricier side, but you do get what you pay for and they do exotic animals. Any questions I have ever asked I’ve always gotten a real answer and they have always been very kind to me and my animals because I take my dog there too. Highly recommend

Absolutely wonderful, friendly, understanding and professional staff and vets. We have a deaf, highly reactive rescue dog and we have to bring her in blindfolded to avoid bites. The staff is so accommodating and helpful. Cannot recommend them enough!

They are the absolute best - we use country garden for all of our animal’s veterinary care (we have 6 rabbits and 1 dog that have visited here so far). Every single visit we have had, the staff has excelled above and beyond. They have easily met, and exceeded our expectations every single time. We have taken our rabbits here for quite a while, and Dr. D and her support staff have done a phenomenal job caring for them each and every time. All the staff was so attentive and considerate. They’ve also helped us out a handful of times for emergent situations with our rabbits. I would also recommended country garden if you have a dog that is extremely anxious. They are excellent at utilizing fear free practices, which worked wonderfully for my rabbits and my dog. My mom brought our dog, Reina, in for a regular appointment to establish care and they used this visit as a wonderful introduction to country garden. She’s usually very anxious at the vet, but the staff catered to Reina’s needs/wants, gave her all of the lovins, kisses, and plenty of yummy treats. She went home very happy! I could go on and on about them - they are wonderful!! I would give 10 stars if I could. :)
