How to Save Money at PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We werec welcomed with open arms my tiffi moon was not eating and sleeping all day . When she did get up she was every unsteady on her feet. But was not up for very long then back to sleep . I was very concerned. Drove an hour to Petmedic they took us right in and took tiffis weight and asked with interest about my gril. it was only a few minutes before Dr Desir came right in as well. My concerns were addressed and blood was drawn. It was not good, my tiffi moons blood work was not good. She has late stage kidney disease. They gave me an appetite stimulate and some kidney disease prescription food. There is not much else to do. I have been doing the stimulate and have been giving her the special food . But I also have been giving her primal Defense a Probionic and astaxanthin in plain greek yogert. Also CBD oil. Tiffi does seem as if she is coming around at least she is getting up more often , is more stable walking . And actually staying awake much more then before . I still have to feed her by hand but beforeshe was not eating at all. I truly don't know how long she will last but she's not in pain and is loving sitting with her daddy. And at least I know what is wrong with her. She is 15 but it's never long enough. I'm thankful PET Medic took us in because we couldn't find not one Veterinarian in the last few years of looking to help or take us as a client. And if they were taking new clients it was a 5 month wait for an appointment. So thank goodness for this great place.

I have never felt better and more confident leaving an appointment for my dog. I saw Dr. Kate Allen. She was so kind, listened to every concern I had and addressed each one throughly. I mean she was was laying on the ground just so she could closely inspect every inch of my dog! She was super knowledgeable and really put me at ease. I also thought their exam fee was very reasonable for the convenience of a late night same day appointment. I also thought the receptionist and vet tech were great! I had a great all around experience. I can’t recommend them enough.

We had a concern about our 2 year old beagle, Willow. We made the appointment to have her seen, and my husband and I were impressed at the way we were treated as parents of Willow and especially how kind they were to her. I highly recommend this facility , and they had fair pricing for what we did. Love ❤️ the facility. They also took the time to show us her results and went through them with us.

I adore the humans here. I brought in my old girl (15 yr old feline) who was traumatized by me being gone and this team did an AMAZING job partnering with my regular vet to get her treated to keep her eating and getting healthier. Doc explained EVERYTHING and was clear and concise, giving me a refresher on the treatment strategies available, and was completely compassionate. (I'm THAT kind of helicopter cat mom!) He went right ahead, gave her what she needed, made certain that I'm following up with my regular vet, and affirmed everything my other doc told me. I've NEVER seen such an incredible willingness to work as a team and partner up before, and that speaks volumes about the caliber of folks who serve in this industry and these organizations. I'm VERY, VERY impressed.

We had the very best experience at this urgent care clinic! Nobody wants to need them, but they were excellent from start to finish. The receptionist, the technicians, and Dr. Desir were all great to work with. Dr. Desir listened, responded to my specific questions and concerns, and made the visit as stress-free as possible. Great care for the animals and owners alike! So happy to have them nearby.
