How to Save Money at Pet+E.R.
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Recently, our family unfortunately lost our beloved dog, Skyla. The staff at this facility was very compassionate, caring, and informative at this very difficult visit and it was truly appreciated. The staff also took time to send us a very thoughtful sympathy card. We will continue to use this ER facility in the future and continue to recommend them to family and friends. Thank you again to the lovely staff, your kindness is truly appreciated.

I recently had to go to Pet ER after my mini dachshund ate mouse poison. They were so kind and helpful throughout the whole process. The front desk staff were great and Dr. Meyer was amazing! She explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. She kept me up to date on my doggie’s well-being and helped decide on a plan of care that worked for me. If I ever need emergency vet services again (hopefully never!) I will 100% be coming back to these wonderful folks. Thank you all! P.s. Addie is feeling so much better and she says thank you for taking such good care of me!

We showed up for an emergency visit in the early afternoon on a Sunday and we were seen right away. The staff was all extremely friendly, reassuring, and helpful in a really stressful time. The facility was very clean and modern. The team went over an itemized list of prices before testing so I wasn't blindsided by the bill. I don't know the going rate for emergency pet care, but I like to think it was reasonable for the care received. I hope you never have to go, but if you do, you and your pet will be in great hands.

I'd give them 10 stars if I could! It's awful when you have a sick pet and don't know if they'll be alright. When you work somewhere it's easy to get comfortable and slack off once you've worked there for a period of time. None of the people working when I was there were new employees (I asked!) yet each person treated me as if I was the first customer/patient they ever encountered. Considering the reason why I was there, I felt guilty for having such meaningful conversations with everyone. I didn't expect to enjoy myself while I was in the ER waiting room to find out what was wrong with my cat but somehow, I found myself smiling, laughing even. Dr. Meyers, Deborah Peacock, Nicki & Crystal all went above and beyond what could have been expected of them. They were wonderful! The next day Dr. Kim called to follow-up with JJ. We discussed his condition and came up with a care plan. I am truly impressed with this organization. Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of my baby boy cat...and me!

As soon as I get there the in processing was fast and the the wait was short. The staff was very caring about my pet. The vet and the pharmacist explained what was going on, the plan treatment and the type of medication and how to administer. The next day I received a follow up call on how my pet was recovering. I will definitely take my pet back. Thanks to the team.
