How to Save Money at Loving Pet Care Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I am beyond grateful to Dr. Bishop and his wonderful team for their exceptional care and support. After multiple visits to different vet clinics and emergency rooms without a clear diagnosis for my dog,who was still in pain! I was feeling quite hopeless. From the moment we arrived at Dr. Bishop's clinic, I felt reassured. Dr. Bishop and his team were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuinely kind and supportive throughout the process. They took the time to thoroughly examine my dog and finally provided a proper diagnosis, giving us a clear path forward. Their compassion and dedication made all the difference, and I am now confidently planning the next steps for his treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Bishop and his team to any pet owner in need of top-notch veterinary care. They truly go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of their patients. Thank you so much, Dr. Bishop and team, for everything!

My cat almost died due to their negligence! I took my cat here because he had what I assumed was a terrible bladder infection. They charged $500 and did all these tests then told me that my cat was "just stressed" and sent him home with antibiotics though his condition got worse. When I called to get the results of the blood work they had misplaced it and my cat needed to come in for more blood work. (More money spent!) The results were "inconclusive". He got so bad I had to take him to Falls Road emergency vet clinic, and he was in ICU for 3 days. He actually had urinary crystals causing a blockage and had to be on an IV and a catheter those three days. I will never take any of my pets to Loving Pet Care again. (Thankfully, my cat is fine now )

Dr.Bishop and his staff are by far the best animal hospital I have come across in my many, many years of having pets. From friendly to compassionate to experienced, words that do not adequately describe Dr Bishop and his staff. Dr Bishop is so caring and helpful; being there exactly when you need him, even though I was not that close to his office but he still came to my home to take excellent care of Ruby. Both times Dr. Bishop came to my home he brought along the most compassionate and experienced assistants who didn’t get frustrated even though Ruby was very frightened and was not going to comply with their requests. In addition, Dr Bishop was kind enough to have his groomer take care of Ruby who has allergies and in desperate need of a bath and a cut. I was really doubtful of the results while I was waiting knowing I had not been able to bathe her or even cut a matt from her hair. She is beautiful…. perfectly groomed! Shocked and amazed are an understatement! I would strongly recommend Dr. Bishop and his exceptional staff without reservation. Thank you Dr. Bishop and all your great employees!!!

Dr. Bishop and his staff were so kind and patient with us. Our dog was nervous at her appointment and they took the time to help her get comfortable before her exam. They made sure to ask if I had any questions and made a sensible plan to address her tumor and mobility issues. We are so thankful to have found their team.
