How to Save Money at Spruce Hill Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Receptionist is amazing and reached out to us on Facebook when we were looking for a Vet. We took in a recuse kitty and she was very scared and extremely nervous. They were absolutely amazing with her. Got us in much quicker than our regular vet. Informed us of everything they recommended for her. Zero pressure just informed. They treated our new baby and we could not be happier. We will most likely be switching our other pets to their care soon. I’d like to also mention that while I was sitting in the waiting area I got to witness the receptionist comfort a gentleman who just had to put his baby down. She was so kind and caring with him. Reassuring him that he made the right decision and that his baby isn’t suffering anymore. It warmed my heart . As a pet owner I know that day will come and I can only hope I encounter such kindness and compassion as she gave him. This is a great Vet . Do yourself a favor and ignore the few negative reviews. Read between the lines and see what they are really complaining about. I’m full trust this place with my fur babies.

Will like to take this moment to express my gratitude to Spruce Hill Veterinary Clinic and they're entire staff working after hours to ensure my "Wednesdays " life was saved. A wellness visit turned into a critical medical emergency and Dr. Santiago along with Dr. Himmelstein, Dr. Alleman, Shannon, Joshua, and Dawn were the surgery people in the room, Tiffany K and Tiffany S were there praying and supporting my baby. Racheal whom was lead tech. All of you are angels and I will forever be in debt for your sacrifice to save my babygirl life and her well being. As of this moment Wednesday it's showing much improvement. Baby steps moving forward to ensure a safe and healthy recovery. Thank you Again🙏

I took my dog here for a physical. We ran tests and got them back the next day! I did wait for an hour because there was an emergency. Luckily my dog waited very patiently and I didn’t have any issues. The staff was very kind and explored all causes to my huskies lack of appetite. I am glad to know if it was my emergency it would take priority over a routine vet appointment.

This place has gone so down hill. They constantly are showing how much they don’t care about the animals. They are so unorganized and I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially for your fur babies. I don’t even want to go into the issues because it’s truly upsetting.

You get Pawsome care for your pets and an experience you will never forget ✨✨ they helped save my aunts dog with their swift acting and even stayed longer to assist us which was above and beyond. To have a team dedicated to the animals and to show the love and compassion that they have towards these animals just makes it worth it. I don’t know anyone else who would have helped us and they really surpassed all and any expectations for my aunts dog. You guys have no idea what care you guys will be getting but let me say that it’s worth it. You’re paying for the up most important and living care from these doctors and technicians and assistants. Give these people a chance to show you how much they really love animals and this teams works well together to support any causes they put their mind too.
