How to Save Money at New England Veterinary Clinic & Pet Resort
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Sorry, This Vet was not taking new or prior customers like myself that haven't been back in years. I had taken custody of this cat from a sick senior who got him from a local shelter near where he was living in W. Roxbury but back then he was going to a living care facility and did not want him put down because of his situation and neither did I. When I picked him up he needed his nails trimmed and a look over from a pro so I booked him with N.E.V.C. who were taking new customers then and Mr. Binks got his nails done and an exam/check up service which they did fast & professionally, it was a relief to know he had a clean bill of health and lived on for close to 19 years so I would say they were correct in his diagnosis. The visit then was $309, well spent to make sure your furry family member is seen by a 'doctor in a modern pet hospital', Too Bad they were too busy too send him off when the time came.

This place is awful. My dog became solely mine through a break up. Originally got her about 3 months prior, as my then partners EX, who he had originally gotten the dog with, was moving and could not take her with them, a mouthful I know. Shortly after obtaining sole responsibility I reached out the NEVC trying to get the dogs records and get the full history and make sure she was healthy and happy because she had a lot of issues. They refused to do anything to help, even after explaining there was a restraining order in place and I had the care of the dog and it was my responsibility to know her history and manage her care, they wouldn’t even confirm her age, as it had been told to me we were getting a much younger dog than she presented as, thus complications quickly began as a result of her age. They did nothing to help, they would only treat her, it made no sense what so ever. I decided to obviously get the care through them since her records wouldn’t be passed along because of whatever stupidity they were spewing they then charged me up the wazoo on testing just to tell me that it was all inconclusive and they only way to really be sure was to do blood work. If that’s the case then why bleed me dry with all the other tests in the first place. I am a single mother I explained everything that was going on and how overwhelming it had all been, I just feel like any decent vet would care more about the pet then technicalities and money. obvious they don’t care about your pets well being they just want to make money.

Website advertises pet boarding and I have a diabetic cat. Seemed like a perfect fit for us. Nope. They only board current patients and aren't accepting new patients at the moment. Feels like two things that should have been mentioned on their website. Don't waste your time.

I’ve never ever experienced issues with a pet clinic in my life, all this clinic cares about is money, the vets that work in the clinic are the rudest vets I’ve ever encountered! Denied my dog treatment that she needs for the rest of her life, their own vet diagnosed my dog so why do I need to keep coming in and paying hundreds of dollars for something we already know, it’s a pre existing condition!!!! Money hungry clinic

My dog got spayed and had a dental cleaning with a couple of teeth pulled. We had Dr Bergeron, I was so worried about this, Karli is a 4-year-old long haired chihuahua. I was only getting it done because her heats are so bad and she goes into false pregnancy. I've been so on the fence about this I bought the certificate 2 years ago and returned it because I was nervous for her to have surgery. Well, it couldn't have went any better! The first night was really hard because she cried all night but I'm sure she wasn't paying. But as far as recovery, I'm amazed at how she bounced right back, and how well the incision is doing. She hasn't tried to lick it or go near it at all, as a matter of fact it's high enough that I don't even think she could reach it if she wanted to. I'm very happy with the outcome here 🙏
