How to Save Money at Wellesley Natick Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

staff was very kind and loving towards my cat. they were transparent about pricing and followed up with test results the next day. would recommend, plus free churus for the kitties and snacks and water for humans.

Disappointing Experience with Veterinary Care Rating: 1/5 I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received at WVNH. Despite booking an early 8 am appointment and asking during booking how long a regular annual appointment would take explaining that I would need to be done by 9 am for work, the vet tech failed to review my pets' records beforehand, and the doctor was a staggering 30 minutes late. When the doctor finally arrived, I reiterated my time constraint, but the appointment was rushed, and my pets were whisked away for vaccinations at an alarming speed. I'm left questioning whether the vaccines were actually administered or just claimed to be. To add insult to injury, the rabies vaccination certificate was riddled with errors - incorrect information that I had to waste time calling to correct. It's alarming that a veterinary clinic could be so careless with important medical documents. The front office staff were friendly and professional, but the tech's negligence, the doctor's tardiness, and the clinic's lack of attention to detail overshadowed their excellent service. I expect a higher standard of care and communication from a veterinary clinic. Until they improve their efficiency, attention to detail, and respect for clients' time, I cannot recommend them.

We have been patients of Dr. Katuna and Wellesley-Natick Veterinary Hospital since 1992. The Hospital itself is gorgeous. His practice is amazing. He's hired great veterinarians and vet techs. Everybody at the Hospital is top notch including the front desk. We're happy campers!

I brought my baby girl kitty to see Dr. Katuna. The first thing that I noticed was that after all these years Dr. Katuna is not jaded. He was so caring and attentive to my kitty. He spent so much time with us. I didn’t feel rushed. And I felt like he really cared about the well-being of my cat. His entire staff was attentive and friendly. I could not have asked for a better experience.

STAY AWAY. Not only is it dangerous to get your dog in and out of this vet because of how close it is to Route 9, but they overcharge you for unnecessary services. We called to have them to remove a wart on our dog. The office said we had to come in so they could see it and couldn't promise us that the wart could be removed the same day. The doctor came in and spent one minute looking at the wart and then told his assistant to give us an estimate. The pair then left the room. My wife overheard the assistant say, "I don't even know how much to charge for something like this." The Vet's response was, "just use a really high number." We then received an estimate for over $1,200 to remove a small wart. Making matters worse, the Vet charged us his $150 for this visit because he did a full body exam. We specifically went there to get a wart removed. There are too many great clinics and vets in the area that are friendly, more modern, and reasonably priced. If our bill is not adjusted we will be leaving this review and taking our pet to a new vet.
