How to Save Money at Braintree Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I use a wheelchair and the building and exam rooms are spacious and accessible. There is even a low section of counter that I can see over in reception. I don’t know about the restroom. The staff seem happy. I’ve worked in veterinary before and realize how important this is. The exam takes place in the room which is also important to me. My dog likes the doctor and techs. During the exam, my knowledge of my dog’s health was augmented, not dismissed. My concerns and observations were taken seriously as a layman. I have not had to correct any records, indicating good care is taken with histories. I have to use transportation workarounds due to not having my own van and everyone has been accommodating of this. The cost is in line with urban prices, not super high or low. Overall, it’s one of the lowest stress animal hospitals I’ve been to.

This was my first time going to a vet and their staff was friendly and patient with my many questions (I wrote my questions down on a piece of paper). Means a lot to a new inexperienced dog mom. Highly recommended!

I have a terrier mix I adopted from Arkansas and brought her there because of what seemed to be an ear infection. The staff was very helpful and nice. The building was very clean. Everything was explained to me and I walked out with all the medication I needed. The price for the visit was reasonable and everything else I guess is what to be expected from blood test and medication. Will bring her back again and would recommend. ****UPDATE. Just got a puppy and he loves this place as well.

Braintree Vets let my dog die. I took him here for about six months, spent over $5000 in bills, and they never once caught his diabetes. I repeatedly told them he wasn't eating properly, constantly throwing up and having diarrhea, and they told me, "Dogs don't starve themselves, he's probably just being picky. Here's some antibiotics, that'll be $180." I told them how he was having seizures and cramps, and showed them videos of it happening. They told me I should go see a neurologist, even though it clearly wasn't neurological. I'm not a trained vet and even I could see that. Turns out my dog had diabetes and needed insulin, not antibiotics. He couldn't eat because his body was rejecting food. He had seizures because his sugar levels were plummeting. Braintree Vets charged me $2000 for dental surgery, and two weeks later my dog was dying. He couldn't walk, he couldn't eat, his body just shut down over a couple days. All that blood work, urine tests, stool samples, thousands of dollars, all for nothing because they ignored the real issue. I had to find all this out from a complete stranger at an emergency clinic. The next day, I had to put my best friend down. It was the worst experience of my life and I still break down thinking about it. While I was sitting in my apartment alone, screaming and crying in pain, I got a letter from Braintree Vet saying "we're sorry for your loss." These vets are young and friendly, as well as useless and inexperienced. They will kill your pets through ignorance and negligence. Go somewhere else.

I noticed the just the other night that my cat Jake had blood in his urine. I called Braintree Vet Care and immediately got an appointment. They held on to him for a few hours so they could obtain a urine sample that would be sufficient for analysis. From the greeting to his evaluation and to his ultimate treatment and scheduling our follow-up, Jake got the best treatment l could want. I am very happy! Jake made a bunch of new friends too. I have three other cats as well that I will be taking there for their care. I can't speak highly enough of the team of staff, they all were very nice and professional. Jake was in excellent hands!!! Thank you.
