How to Save Money at Mass Veterinary Services Inc
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I highly recommend Mass Veterinary Services for your beloved pet should the need arise. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Masloski is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in easy-to-understand terms. She personally kept us apprised of our dog's condition after the procedure and then followed up with a post-op care plan.

I mean this with sincerity when I say this is one of the best vets I have taken any of my dogs to my entire life. From the receptionist (all of them) to the doctor everything about this place is perfect. They are the kindest and sweetest vet staff I have ever met in my entire life. The doctor and nurse are Nice and funny and thorough. The doctor talks to you as much as you need to explains fully in detail what’s wrong with your dog and how to fix it and help your dog. The doctor here is the best in town. As well as the entire staff the ladies at the front desk are always nice when you call them and when you come in. I will only be bringing my fur baby here from now on for the rest of his life. They also do refills on dog medicine without having to bring your dog in every single time as well. They will try to get your dogs and cats in soon as possible too if you’re in need of an appointment. I 100% recommend this vet and no other.

Got an appointment within 2 days as a new patient for my senior dog who was coughing. I was sure it was from collapsing trachea, unfortunately it was due to enlarged heart, fluid in the lungs and congestive heart disease. Dr Tom explained everything and put my boy on meds hoping to extend his lifespan. Unfortunately he developed a complication from his disease and 6 days later he was in heart failure and respiratory distress despite the meds. They did what they could to help him but ultimately there was nothing more to make him comfortable, he just wasn't responding to treatment. I had to make the dreaded decision to let him go and Dr Tom was so compassionate and stayed with me through the whole ordeal reassuring me it was the best decision. I am grateful for the treatment we were given especially in such short notice and without being an established patient. If you want honest and compassionate care then I highly recommend this practice. Thank you

They all are great with our pup Riley, they have a way of f keeping him calm , he is so relaxed when he goes. The most important is they take the time to talk and explain things so they know we understand!

Had an appointment here. Having an appointment for an uncontrollable animal isn't an easy task. I always have trouble getting my pet cat to the vet. Even though I try to get him in with enough time, today ran a little late. I usually can't get him in a crate. Today, I couldn't find him, and he was in the last place I would have expected him, He usually comes out when I call him. I was 15 minutes late. Apparently I needed to reschedule. There should be a little leeway with this due to the nature of what it is... I'm not gonna stick him in a crate super early and expect him to be in there forever just because I need to get somewhere on human time... I mentioned that it sucks because it's a huge pain to get him down there, and I actually took time off of work to get him there, as I always have to. I wasn't loud about it, I was pretty much just talking out loud. Some thin guy in scrubs in the main lobby, who is not a vet, gave me attitude, told me to take my anger somewhere else. I gave him back attitude, and slammed the door on the way out due to his outburst. He came running out to tell me I wasn't welcome back. Well, he can go F himself. Good riddens. Honestly, I'll go find a vet who can actually take care of my cat. After 4 appointments with no improvment and no real testing, you can tell these guys are quacks anyway. It's a money sink, and my cat is suffering for it. UPDATE: I made a call and set up an appointment with another vet on the same day I had this problem with these people, while sitting in their parking lot. I brought my cat to Agawam Animal Hospital where they actually ran tests and found out that my cat had a skin infection. They gave me medicine for him, and within days he stopped pulling his fur out. It's been about 3 weeks and he's almost all the way back to normal looking. Agawam Animal Hospital did in days what Mass Veterinary Services couldn't do in 8 months. It was slightly more expensive for the visit fee itself, but totally worth it. Mass Veterinary Services was just taking my money and not doing anything. I'm so happy to have my cat happy and healthy again after suffering for so long.
