How to Save Money at Lucie Berryhill
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Absolutely wonderful! The vet I normally visit had no appointments open, but my dog needed same day care. They worked with me to get my dog in as early as possible. My dog is large and sporadic, and has lots of energy so he is sometimes hard for me to handle on my own. One of the receptionists held him for me while I filled out paperwork, and they did the same when I was checking out. Everyone was so nice and caring while I was there. Dr. Berryhill was extremely thorough, but didn't go overboard on unnecessary diagnostic testing. The pricing is reasonable, I paid less here than I did at my old vet. This is a fabulous establishment! I honestly can't even remember the name of the vet we have previously used, but I will certainly remember Dr. Berryhill for a long time to come!

My senior year in high school, I was able to do a 5 month internship with Staring Plaza and I can tell you that they are excellent!!! I am not like most who dropped their animal off, I worked with them everyday for five months an I loved it so much that I spent all of my holidays and some weekends there too! They treat every animal with love and affection as if it was their own. I've done a lot of work with other clinics but none compare to the quality of work staring plaza does. Dr. Berryhill was able to work with almost any case and takes every minor detail into account to ensure the health and safety of the animal! They maybe pricey in some departments, but remember, you are paying for quality care when it comes to your fur children! Not to mention the staff is amazing and great at their jobs! This clinic is the most advanced I have ever seen and besides a select few. At Staring Plaza, they realize you are trusting them with your family and they treat them as such.

All of our current and past pets are under Dr. Berryhill's care. The veterinary care is very professional and thorough. Whenever possible, Dr. Berryhill takes a conservative approach and backs up his diagnoses and treatment plans with recommendations from professional literature. So far, he has always been spot on. Our large dogs are treated like babies by the good doctor and his staff (which is probably more important for the owners than the pets themselves). It is obvious that everyone in Dr. Berryhill's office loves animals. We also board the dogs at their kennel facility and there have never been any problems. The office has most necessary diagnostic equipment, including ultrasound and X-ray, so little needs to be "farmed out". When one of our dogs developed a middle ear infection last October, bacterial cultures had to be sent out for antibiotic resistance studies, which took a couple of days, followed by a few more days of custom formulation of the antibiotic gel. Today we were pleased to find out that our dog is fine. The office stayed in touch with us over the past 3 months and followed up on the dog's condition after each of the many treatments. If you are looking for a veterinary office "for life", you can count on a very personal and friendly relationship with the chatty doctors and the staff and, most importantly, very knowledgeable and effective veterinary care for your pet.

I have been a pet owner for 30+ years. I've moved a lot and my pets have had several vets. My pets have been treated at Staring Plaza Vet Clinic for 5 years. As far as overall treatment goes, this is clinic is the best one I have experienced. The entire staff is professional and caring. I board my pets here when I need to and know they will receive great care. I trust these people and the clinic.

From the time our cat adopted us in December of 2009, until this past weekend (right before we had to take him to an emergency vet clinic and, a day later, have him put to sleep), we were served by the Staring Plaza Veterinary Center doctors and staff. In every case, from making appointments to follow up, we and our pet were treated in a professional, congenial, and helpful manner. I could not more whole-heartedly recommend them.
