How to Save Money at Advanced Animal Care Emergency
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My 21 month year old Yorkie, Jill recently got hit by a car. She only weighed about 4 lbs. She weighed 3.5 ounces when she was born. She was left in the wet road Kimmie or get hit by another car. We found out about ADVANCED ANIMAL CARE in Richmond, ky. Asap. She had a head injury. Her body wasn't touched. Her eyes were rolling back in her head and my husband even said she was dead while I was on the phone. I refused to give in to that notion so I grabbed her and started talking to her and stimulating her and she opened her eyes again. So we headed on a 2 hour trip to Richmond. They took her right in and worked on her. They put her in an oxygen tank bc it helps the swelling in the brain. A lot more was done but they wanted to keep her and kept her 2 nights. They kept us updated the entire time and then the call came to come & get her. She was wonderful! She was almost like before. She still had some recovery but she has healed so fast and almost good as new ! We are so happy. My heart is healed Like her brain. I still can't believe it when I look at her and remember picking her little limp body up off the road. God is good and so is Advanced Animal Care. I will forever be grateful for the knowledge and care they have my baby. I would give them 500 stars if I could. They even gave me a refund. Who does that? They are that honest also. So don't hesitate to go there if your fur baby has an accident. They may not be able to save them but you'll know they did everything they could. That's all we can ask.

The staff here are top notch! Dr. Sears worked so hard to save our baby from a large mass that split his spleen in half. She was able to cut the cost in half because it was just an expensive surgery and a Sunday. Her and her staff are absolutely amazing! These people truly care! This was my second experience with Advanced Animal Care. My dog was bitten by a copperhead last year and we received the same level of care. Highly recommend!!! Thank you all so much for saving our babys life!

We are first time dog parents, our yellow lab had some swollen eyes after daycare and continued to get some hives on his snout. So being the first time parents we are, we called and asked what they thought. They had us come in, we live an hour away so we were very nervous. They were very kind and caring and took care of our sick pup quickly and effectively. I would rate this place 10/5 if I could. Any emergencies we have we will always come here. They took care of our baby and put our minds at ease. All for a very reasonable price.

Not my usual vet. Nothing against AACE, I've been taking my animals to my regular clinic for 20+ years. That said, I've had to bring animals to Advanced Animal care many times after hours for emergencies. The staff, techs, vets, etc. are extremely friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Prices are very reasonable. I unexpectedly had to let a cat go on Christmas Day, years ago, who suddenly declined. They were very understanding and took care of him despite the timing. I felt awful having the doctor come in to do so, but again, emergency. Absolutely recommend them.

Their fast care after an awful accident with our puppy saved her life and we are so thankful!! They were all so kind and understanding. They kept us updated on her status while going through surgery, and have checked up on her in the hours and days after we brought her back home, which is very appreciated!
