How to Save Money at All Creatures Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Everyone at All Creatures were absolute angels!! I called last minute this morning about an appointment for my goldendoodle, and they were able to get him in within an hour. We were taken into a room within 10 minutes of arriving. This dog had not been in my possession for a while and was in bad shape. He needed to be up to date on his shots as well as be treated for a cut on his leg. His coat was also very overgrown and matted. They went above and beyond to take care of him. The doctor was very informative and so kind. The techs spent over 2 hours shaving him down to at least make him more comfortable. Everyone I came in contact with, from the front desk to the vet techs, were kind and compassionate. I will definitely be bringing my Charlie back here and will recommend to anyone looking for a vet! Thank you, All Creatures!! ❤️

The vet showed my Chevy lots of love in her final hours. She cry right along with her daddy and I. We are grateful for the team that was there on Sunday. They were amazing. They made us a little kitty coffin and little molds of her paws so we could take here back home with us. So all her babies could say goodbye. R. I. P. Baby girl!

Is this place even open anymore? Cause their phone # doesn’t work. ( Putting 3 stars til I hear back) *update: the phone number that this google Contact has didn’t work yesterday. “Phone number no longer in service” msg when I clicked the link on this listing. Secondly, my disabled mom that lives a few streets over told me you guys closed down and I wouldn’t be able to get old records for her dog that I now have. (I’m on the road in NE, so stopping by isn’t an option) I’m glad to see that it’s now working properly. Lastly a 3 out of 5 star review is not bashing anyone. It’s an average rating. I didn’t get an option to skip the star rating and there was at the time, no other way for me to reach you. I said I put three stars until I hear back from you so if you were open and things were corrected as they are now, I would modify my review. The snarky attitude you exhibited in your response is deserving of my update. A simple “yes we are still open, and our number is ******” would have done wonders in earning you the 5 star. A little bit of class never hurt anyone..

I have taken my pets to All Creatures for several years and will not return at this point. I recently took my dog here for her annual wellness exam and updated vaccines. This trip was $400 to tell me that my dog was healthy (including her flea and tick treatment and nail trim). A few days later my dog began to act unlike herself. I took her to another vet due to All Creature’s limited openings and they immediately found a mammary tumor. They also found that her glands were impacted and swollen and needed to be expressed. I understand humans make mistakes but I don’t understand how these things were missed when the whole visit was to ensure that my pet was well. I should also mention the other clinic visit was $30.

Just sharing our experience. Our kitten was not gaining weight and was potbellied, which made us think parasites. They couldn’t get us an appointment until a week out. Bring her in, she has roundworm. They send her home with meds and give her a kitten vaccine. Take her home, she sleeps the rest of the day, then night time hits and she struggled to live for hours. She died in the night and took her body to the clinic next morning, and they made my fiancé carry her to the back where the cremation guy was. Staff couldn’t have carried our tiny dead kitten? I understand this might be out of anyone’s control, but I can’t help but think they killed her.
