How to Save Money at Solomon Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Such a great place! I highly recommend! My appointment was not rushed and they took the time to get to know me and my big girl. All of my questions were addressed and answered and everything was explained in a way I understood right away. They have a very knowledgeable team and they are all so kind! My dog can get nervous in new situations and I told them that she does really well if you explain what's going on and talk to her like she's a person. She is a very intelligent girl and a huge member of our family. This team understood and did everything to accommodate. I look forward to the next appointment. By the end of the appointment she was giving everybody kisses and shaking paws.

I have been going to Solomon Vet Clinic for many years now, servicing multiple of my pets. My experience has never been anything but positive and amazing. The staff is always super informative, patient, and answers any and all questions I have. I have a dog who can be temperamental around other animals, and the staff always makes sure that we can come in without stressing out my pup. They are patient with him and super kind, regardless of his circumstances. They don’t discriminate against any dogs and their behaviors and always treat us, and my dog with so much kindness and respect. Recently my dog tore his left rear ACL, resulting in needing a TPLO procedure to repair his leg. They were prompt with scheduling, and explained everything in detail from beginning to end so I’d know what to expect and have minimal worries. Drew herself is an angel. She sent me pictures of my dog after, letting me know he was okay and updated me every chance she could. My dog recovered faster than expected and is fully healed now, back to his old self. We have had no complications, no concerns, just a happy and healthy pup! Dr Adair did amazing on this procedure ensuring that I understood what they were going to do step by step and how it would help. Though this specific experience was recent, all of my annual visits with all of my pets are always great.

Our initial visit went very well. We had a 5pm appointment and I noticed they close at 530pm. We were seen right away, and discussed the dental cleaning for my dog. I didn’t feel rushed or forced into the procedure. I was allowed to ask my questions and options, The quote that I was given was very close to the actual cost. I brought him in the morning of the procedure and he was home that afternoon. The veterinarian and staff were amazing. We will be going back for a follow up in couple weeks. The photo is of Myles Alexander the day after his dental cleaning. He did sleep and was not hungry when he came home. The picture is the following morning….

They are very caring, attentive and treated my dogs as their own. I had a very bad experience before with a vet in Andover however when we found Dr Burke we knew she was the right one for our pets. She keeps one of our dogs alive for so long my dog is now 12 and has received excellent care Kudos to Dr Burke and all the staff at Solomon
