How to Save Money at Nall Hills Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

You can tell Dr. Minor really cares about her patients and families. She made us feel comfortable and I never felt rushed as I asked lots of new puppy mother questions! Our family grew up going to Nall Hills in the 80’s so it’s fun to continue now that I have my own pup. Thank you!

We love Dr. Teeter and all the staff at Nall Hills. Dr. Teeter and the vet techs are so gentle, caring and loving towards my little Peanut. We are so blessed to have him as our veterinarian! Kim and the other front desk staff are exceptional also. They always provide amazing service. A few years ago Peanut was in prior to a holiday. Dr. Teeter called me on the 4th of July to make she was still doing good and recovering well. He goes above and beyond for his patients and provides superior service. If he's not your vet then he should be! You will not be disappointed. Nall Hills is the BEST!!

I was genuinely blown away today by this vet office. Front desk was so friendly, easy to check in with, & quick to get my dog back by the scheduled appointment time. They were quick to get me estimates on my dogs upcoming surgery & get me completely checked out without any hassle. The vet tech was super sweet. Loved up on my dog & even after the appointment, sat in the lobby to give Aspen all the love & attention. The vet was also amazing. So friendly, listened to each & every concern I had. Gave me recommendations on what areas of concern we should focus on first & all around made me feel seen & heard as a dog parent. I’m genuinely excited to have this be my dogs new home for veterinary care. Thank you so much!

My dog Charlie swallowed a sharp object and within an hour he was examined and had x rays and I was given clear information on next steps and what to watch for. Fortunately all turned out well when he passed the object the next morning. The doctor called to follow-up and I was able to relay the successful outcome. All involved at the office were competent, attentive, and compassionate. Am so happy to have this group taking care of my pup!

I will try to make this as brief as possible. My father-in-law has been practicing medicine on animals for over 30 years, He recommended this clinic to me for end of life care for my 15 1/2 year-old terrier mix. I called this afternoon at 1:30 and got the recording to call back after 2. I did so, and a woman answered the phone (maybe Kenzie, I can’t really remember) she immediately put me on hold. After about a minute she got back on the line. I explained to her that my father-in-law had suggested me to call and make an appointment for end of life care. Mind you this is not a call I’ve been wanting to make. She proceeded to tell me that typically the doctors there would want to exam my dog first because quote on quote from her “once you do it, there’s no goint back.. so I should make sure it’s really time.) I immediately got super offended and just said I would look for another place. How dare that woman tell me that. I have had my baby since I was 19 and I’m 34 now. She has been through so much with me, why would I be making that phone call if it wasn’t time?!!!! I will never recommend nor bring my animals to this clinic. If you have someone at your front desk that speaks to people this way especially when they are already upset, I will not support. I ended up calling urgent vet in OP and they were so kind and gave me lots of information over the phone. Maybe see what there training strategies are for “end of life” phone calls.
