How to Save Money at Morris Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Wow!! Such loving, caring, gentle and nice people running the show at Morris. I have been supported in such kind ways I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately I just lost my beloved Olive a couple weeks ago and my heart may be permanently broken but Morris AH hasn't stopped caring. I just got a very generous donation note in the mail filled with kind words and a tree in her honor. I am so so thankful for their kindness during the hard time in my life. THANK YOU from the deepest part of my heart. I didn't touch on them for being accurate, gentle, timely and accessible but they are a five star facility. Don't hesitate to take your pet to MAH

SNICKERS and KISMET recently both had dental and my Dane had major eye surgery. my favorite vets ever! My dogs love going there and they also msg or call me the day after we go. Eye Surgery went perfectly. Very Easy to get appointments and they have critical care. I especially loved the anesthetic they used on my Dane. They often don't recover quickly from it. I have had several Danes with problems up to 3 days. this time she was up and outside twice before I picked her up! if your pets are your family this is where you want to go.

This place is awesome. I have gone there more than I can count between my huskies. Dr. Nikki is my go-to as my dogs know her best! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. They work with you if you have to reschedule at short notice and always make sure my dogs feel comfortable!

We were customers of Morris Animal Hospital for more than 7 years. We trusted them with the care of 5 of our dogs. Over the years, we have had many positive interactions with most of the doctors including Dr. Terry, Dr. Gayle, Dr. Doug Morris, and Dr. Julie Morris, Dr. Jamie, and Dr. Nikki. They all were kind, caring and attentive. We VERY much enjoyed and appreciated Dr. Kelly as well. She has an excellent bedside manner. It is very obvious that she loves and cares for all of her pet patients. She always spent the necessary time explaining and answering all of our questions. We were disappointed by the care recently provided by Dr. Jessica Spake. After advising her of her specific behavior triggers to avoid with one of our dogs (i.e. knocking on the door, standing up vs. sitting down, etc.), Dr. Jessica continued to engage in actions which further exacerbated our dog's fear in the clinic setting. Over the years, the majority of the front desk employees have been kind, caring, and respectful. However, this week, we were contacted by two front desk people (Monica & Mackenzie), who advised us that our dog was being prescribed a medication which was unsafe for her. I attempted to explain that the medication was, in fact, prescribed by Morris, and the employees argued, talked over me, and refused to allow me to explain. They went so far as to say they had "no record" of ever prescribing this medication despite my attempts to advise them of the contrary. At this point, we have been contacted by one of the physicians who reassured us that all relevant risks were appropriately considered prior to prescribing the medication. (What a relief!) After this scare we lost faith in Morris, we requested transfer of care to a different clinic. Once Morris became aware that we were transitioning to another clinic, the practice manager attempted to terminate our dog's care immediately prior to care being established with another provider. The practice manager later retracted this decision and agreed to provide care until we establish care with another provider. (A decision we very much appreciate!) Highly recommend Dr. Terry, Dr. Gayle, Dr. Doug, Dr. Julie, Dr. Nikki, and Dr. Jamie. I can sing praises of Dr. Kelly all day long. However, these particular front desk people very obviously act outside their scope of practice and lack the necessary customer service skills to maintain customer confidence.

This was our first time coming here for our new fur baby. The staff is super friendly and go far and beyond. They made this adorable poster for his first visit. They also called us the day after to make sure he was doing well after vaccines. Thank you so much for taking care of our Colby Jack.
