How to Save Money at Aboite Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My family has a labradoodle named Dulce and we’ve been taking her here for the past few years and they’ve always done a superb job at taking care of our dog! Dulce has a lot of allergies and starts to go downhill whenever she’s super anxious and at one point in time it got so bad that we thought we might lose her. Aboite staff did all they could to ensure that she would recover and we were given back the dog that we view to be a member of the family and we couldn’t be more thankful for their efforts! Thank you again for always doing all that you could during any given visit from the bottom of our hearts!

My 7 year old Malinois German absolutely adores the Staff members and the Doc has her full trust and admiration. She even kissed him before we checked out after a major knee surgery.

Our 100 pound Chesapeake Bay Retriever began limping and moving like an old dog when he was just 3 1/2 years old. Holding him back from doing all the dog things he loves was really diminishing his quality of life. He had torn ligaments in his rear leg and he was in some pain. We weighed surgical options all over town, but our own vet, Dr Gupta at Aboite Animal Clinic, went out of his way to offer the best care. He brought in a tibial plateau leveling specialist from Ohio State University to perform the complicated surgery. We had to wait months for this in demand treatment, but the specialist came to Dr. Gupta’s clinic to perform the procedure and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Our Odin is enjoying daily fetch games again. His gait is gorgeous. He feels great. We are so grateful to have Odin back to good health for the rest of his long dog life. ❤️

My cat Storm (3 years old) would have died if it wasn't for Dr Gupta's dedication, knowledge, caring heart and altruism!!! He did 3 surgeries in consecutive days and he didn't stop until my cat was out of mortal danger. I would never be able to show and express my gratitude enough for all he has done. And his prices are the most reasonable of the SW area (I have had 4 vets until I found Dr Gupta). There is no other vet that will treat my 3 pets ever again! Thank you Dr Gupta!

Doctor Gupta and his staff are absolutely amazing. I can't even put in words how amazing they are. They truly love your animals as much as you do. If you're looking for a veterinarian who literally does his job because he loves animals and not for the paycheck then doctor Gupta and his staff is where you want to go. I had an issue last night at 11pm, I called and left Dr Gupta a message and he called me back with in 30min to talk me through how to help MaryJane. I can't say enough about Dr Gupta and his staff. Thank you all for taking such good care of my fur babies and for always being so kind.
