How to Save Money at North Park Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
The people at North Park Vet Care are great. We had a very very sick family pet who couldn't breathe and despite us never having been there, and them being technically closed, they took her in and treated her. The doc called us several times to update us. When the unthinkable happened and the aggressive treatment didn't help, they gave us all the options and the doc even offered to take our pet home and take care of her over the weekend to give her more of a chance if we wanted. That level of care and genuine concern is hard to find. We are so grateful for everything they have done. If you are looking for a vet in Evansville and this place has openings, you should definitely choose them.

We have had NPV for 39 yrs, it was a wonderful and great place! Dr Nelson was awesome and Rhonda, the office manager was exceptional!! They both were very personal, they knew our names, our dogs and cats and the same with our adult kids pets too! They took the time to listen to problems or issues we had with our pets, gave us the best recommendations and care about making the cost fair!! They were the best!! Dr Nelson retired, it wasn't the same but we stayed because of Rhonda was still there and took very good care of us! When covid hit they became total strangers to us, the staff overturn was happening so much we didn't know any one except Rhonda. The Doctor and staff was not interested in any thing but costing us money. Our dog Sammi was 16 yrs old, she was on 5 daily meds, she had 3 very bad episodes in 2022. The 1st one cost us $400, which was fine because we weren't ready to let her go. Sammi had the 2nd one about 6 months later. It was over $800, we thought it was time to let Sammi go but Dr Goedde said no she thought it was worth saving Sammi, so we did. The 3rd time was just a few months later. We decided it was time for us to let Sammi go but Dr Goedde wouldn't do it, she said it was only going to be $54 and keep Sammi over night to get her better. So we did it but the next day when we picked up Sammi they had $362 in meds to take home to finish the healing process. We said no more meds! We never took Sammi back and Sammi passed 4 months later. We have 2 new doggies but have a new vet we already love!!

Horrible customer service. I asked if I could get my cat fixed and in a SNOTTY voice she says “we have not taken new patients for over a year” and hung up on me before I could even say “ok”. She was RUDE and does not deserve to work there.

I decided to bring one of my cats here after he was misdiagnosed from a previous vet. I am SO HAPPY that I switched and wished I would have moved sooner! The time and detail Dr. Jill puts into each exam is incredible. Planning to move all of my cats to her now!

don't recommend; condescending; very disappointed with care. Kept office closed after other offices opened. Submitted staff to running out to clients in rain torrents & didn't wear masks to interact with clients. Why then was office closed? Anti-social.
