How to Save Money at UrgentVet
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
My cat Mango was sick and dehydrated and needed to be seen and our vet was closed, everyone around us was either busy or had some crazy pricing to come in last minute. I drove 40 min away since I seen great reviews. We came and checked in and immediately brought into the room. They did have snacks and drinks in the lobby. Very clean and comfortable. The wait was very long to me, but that’s because I’m very impatient and not so much a reflection of them. The vet tech Casandra was absolutely wonderful and explain the whole process and cost so there are no surprises later. She was soft spoken, patient and understanding. Doctor A. Orals was transparent, descriptive and informative as much as possible. I felt like he did not try to perform unnecessary tests to take more money out of me like most of these emergency vets try to do. In and out in about half or so. My cat is already feeling better today and the medicine is helping. They followed up with a phone call to make sure he felt better. I’m extremely happy with this service. Will definitely go again, if needed be! They need to open more of these locations because the staff is absolutely amazing!

Such a caring Vet and Staff made our emergency kitten scare all so much better with immediate attention, accurate diagnosis… my Kitten is already feeling so much better 24 hours later… thank you so much for taking us in so quick and for all the love and attention. We certainly will be back if any other urgent health issues arise with our pets.

I brought my 16 year old cat Spooky here due to he kept vomiting. The staff was so nice and friendly and handled Spooky well because he was scared and growling. They were very patient with him and were very helpful in relieving his fear and anxiety. The doctor took really good care of him and gave me plenty of information regarding my questions about his health as he is a senior cat. I would definitely go again if needed. They even called me after to check on Spooky and see if I had any additional questions or concerns which was much appreciated!

My family and I built up the courage to move forward with a very hard decision that needed to be made: putting to rest our sweet 16 year old cat. We came in a few minutes to closing time and were treated with nothing but compassion and kindness from all of the staff on site that night. We knew our sweet Reese was in good hands from beginning to end. We were escorted to a private a room to spend our last moments with Reese under no pressure time wise. The accommodations were great for both our cat and ourselves. They offered her a final meal and blankets for comfort. Our Tech went over pricing and was very knowledgeable on our options. As well as our doctor who was very friendly and explained the euthanasia process. We decided on cremation for Reese and within days we received a personal card from all of the staff with many condolences. The kindness I received when picking up her ashes was truly heartwarming. For any of those experiencing a difficult situation, please know that you will not regret giving this ER vet a chance. Thank you for making an extremely hard decision a little bit ‘easier’. -The Sychowski Family

AMAZING!!!! My dog ate some raisin bread and I was recommended to take her here. I am sure happy I did!! The establishment was incredibly clean. Getting an appointment was super quick and easy. I believe the kind woman who performed the exam was named Ally. She was the sweetest and knowledgeable. The Dr was also kind, informative and transparent. I will most definitely be recommending this place along coming here again if need be. Thank you so much for everything!!
