How to Save Money at Broadview Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I am a first time English Bulldog owner and I was excited about getting his first vet visit on its way. Please keep in mind that I am aware of the special needs these puppies take to care for them.I’m the first to say my puppy was being extra in the visit and got loose from his collar and was barking and I was having trouble getting control of him with that being said here I thought I was in a safe space because who better than a vet to understand young exciting puppies. I was wrong.I wasn’t charged what I was told on the phone to begin with apparently price changed since last week because it was a new year but I was told last Friday of the prices. His biased opinion about my dogs breed was not very welcoming. Apparently petting my puppy is bad but poking him as he showed me when he poked my arm and my puppies thighs was ok. To get him in control. He gave him two shots and we had no conversation of what was given according to the paper he received a long list of shots. I have been concern about a wrinkle on his face and asked for him to take a look in which he didn’t and told me he can give me antibiotics but that’s the issue of a bulldog because of collagen but he was kind enough tell me he could perform surgery on his face to smooth out wrinkles. I left out extremely overwhelmed and in shock. I sat through the visit because I was being a responsible dog owner making sure my puppy was taken care of. The only good thing about this place was that the receptionist was respectful.

We adopted a rescue puppy early this year. Our next stop after bringing our puppy home was to the Broadview Animal Hospital for a complete checkup and any necessary shots/medications. Over the past few months as the puppy has grown and continued to do puppy like things such as ingesting anything not food (rocks, grass, wood, etc.), we have relied on Dr. Gill and Jada for their expert and compassionate care. While we are fortunate to have a great dog who has given us as much as we have given her, we are equally as fortunate to have Dr. Gill and Jada as our veterinarian care team.

My dog had something wrong with his eye and I took him here to get it checked out. He was out in less than 5 minutes and the doctor came out telling me he needed plastic surgery to fix an issue. I was concerned, of course but decided to get a second opinion before the surgery. Plus, it was suspicious that the dog had been in there for such a short while and the solution was surgery. (Note: my dog has has eye issues before and his regular vet has done different tests to check what it could be. I've been in there 20-30 minutes before). Also, it seemed that every owner he talked to, every dog was getting surgery. I went to two other vets and both didn't mention a surgery. When I brought up the condition, one said the dog's eyes were fine. He did a droplet test and it turns out he had a scratch on his eye. How could the doctor have possibly run all these test in under 5 minutes? I appreciate them seeing me in such short notice, as many reviews have mentioned but their system seemed too hectic and my dog didn't even need that plastic surgery.

Had the wonderful opportunity to meet Dr.Gill due to the unfortunate circumstance of having my fur baby go through a medical emergency that required immediate care. After contacting several places that had no available surgeons Dr.Gill came in on his day off to help me get my cat seen and taken care of.My cat was very ill and needed emergency help immediately despite the doctor being closed for the day he took the opportunity to see my baby and took amazing care of him. Dr.Gill is very professional honest and straight forward as well as a very kind hearted person who genuinely cares for the animals. It was a pleasure meeting him and allowing him to care for my beloved fur baby. I am extremely thankful for him and his staff. Dr.Gill is definitely One of a kind. In my years of having pets I had never met such a genuine veterinary doctor with such amazing heart. Thank you again Doctor I am for ever grateful.

Mercedes is great! But not happy with how surgery on our dog ended up. We will never take any of our dogs back there again. The Dr. instructions for after care for our pet ended up almost costing her life. After surgery our dog could not walk for over a week. Did not give us antibiotics after we ran out. Did not give us any anti-inflammatory medicine or any pain killers for her. Told us to take bandage off after 3 days and flush 3 times a day. Well it was looking real bad and so swollen her paw pads came off. We ended up taking her to an emergency pet hospital. They said she should of been in wet bandages after surgery. She should of been on meds the whole time. She was very close to having sepsis. My dog is on the mend now, lucky we were able to catch it in time. Please rethink going to this Dr for any care! Update, there's nothing to discuss. Because of your instructions my dog almost lost her foot. Almost died, sepsis would have set in if we hadn't taken her to emergency veterinary hospital. That was over a month ago and since then we have been getting laser treatments and wet bandages changed daily. Oh and they even flushed her ears out something you charged us for but didn't do. You say you care about the animals you treat, why would you not follow up to why we left? Our 3 dogs will not step foot in your butcher shop again. I tried so hard for my friend to not board his dogs there. I really hope he gets them back in good condition.
