How to Save Money at Addison Animal Hospital LTD
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Dr Stocks and his staff are absolutely the most caring and kindhearted team I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. I have two puppies are I have brought since I’ve had them. They explain everything I need to know and answer all my questions. They have taken my pups in emergency situations when they are open, and have treated them with the most care and attention. I will continue to recommend the hospital to any one who will listen.

Where do I even begin! We have been going to Addison Animal Hospital for 10+ years. They have always been amazing. When the tornado hit Lombard on August 10, 2020 we lost power immediately as we had telephone poles uprooted on our property. I called first thing the next morning to see if we could board our dogs (who absolutely love it there). When I spoke with Margaret, I advised what happened to my property and I did not know how long the dogs would have to be there. Margaret did NOT hesitate and said absolutely and I could bring them in at any point. I was there in about an hour. Marta greeted the girls and they were so happy to see her. Marta re-emphasized the girls would be taken care of and just keep them posted on the progress. Every couple days I would call to see how my girls were doing (and making sure they were behaving) and state I had no update when I could bring them home. Of course when I dropped them off one dog became sick (she is a senior dog and the stress of everything made her sick). The staff took immediate care of her and of course treated her like the princess she thinks she is!! Fast forward 3 weeks (YES 3 weeks) I was finally able to bring the girls home. They brought them out one at a time so they each got a few minutes to themselves with me after 3 weeks. The young girl who absolutely LOVES Cindy even gave her a kiss good bye! No one wants to board their fur-babies for any amount of time let alone 3 weeks. I knew my babies would be taken care of and loved as the ENTIRE staff loves my animals like they are their own. I cannot thank you all (Margaret, Jorge, Marta, Cindy, Luke, Jill, Dr. Stocks, and everyone else) for caring for my babies last minute in addition to all the stress with COVID-19!!! You are the BEST and I have no idea what we would have done without you!!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! This veterinarian office is extremely unprofessional and abusive towards animals. I personally worked there for a shift and saw them throw a dog to the ground to trim his nails, curse at the animals and treat them inhumanely. After the abuse I witnessed we called the office, spoke to the vet himself and told him to take our dog off of the patient list. He refused to do so, even after we told him that we would NOT be coming back in the future. This place has now charged me a $30 no call no show fee after I accidentally made an appointment with them (my fault, understandably) however, we had told them to take us off of the list last year and they outright refused to do so. Do not go here if you care about your animals health. (REPLY TO ADDISON ANIMAL HOSPITAL) First and foremost I find it very interesting that I get a reply from the hospital AFTER I pay the bill. I believe it to be extremely unprofessional that this hospital tends to try and argue with their clients in the review section instead of listen to their complaints and change. Second, I did work a shift at this hospital. This was after the veterinarian Dr. Alan J Stocks asked if I would be interested in trying out for an assistant position during a routine visit to the hospital with my family dog. I have been to this facility as you have a crematorium area in the back where the kennels are. Please do not assume that I have this location confused with another. Finally, no one at the hospital asked me if I would like to reschedule. I spoke with Margaret on the phone and she told me that I would have to pay the fee either way, as I didn't call early enough to reschedule or to cancel the appointment. This hospital lies straight to their clients faces, and I personally think they should have their license revoked. Most of the reviews in this comment section pertain to the abuse of the animals at your hospital, so please do not act as if you've never heard of a complaint like this before. Once again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING TO THIS VET AT ALL!!!
