How to Save Money at Compassionate In Home Pet Euthanasia
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Lana came to our home and was absolutely wonderful. She explained everything as she was doing it and made sure that our boy, Odin, was 100% comfortable. I never felt rushed or like I needed to hurry up and say goodbye. She graciously gave us time to really say our final goodbyes and treated Odin with amazing grace and dignity. It’s never an easy process to lose a pet, but Dr. Lana made it just a smidge bit easier. I’ll be forever grateful for her. 🖤

I would recommend this company OVER AND OVER! Lana is AMAZING. She responds quickly as we all know having a hospice pet means things can go downhill so fast. She was able to come over and assist my 16 year old dog over the rainbow bridge in the comfort of our home with hours notice. I will forever be grateful to her for giving me this experience. Losing a pet is so hard but having peace and tranquility and comfort of doing it in your home makes the grieving process much more smoothly compared to having to rush to an emergency vet. She took care of everything and took him to be cremated. She also hand made his urn which is SO beautiful. This company is amazing; if you find yourself reading this review: just call her! You won’t regret it. Thank you Lana, forever!

Dr. Roberts is absolutely the best! I have unfortunately had to let go of another of our best friends, Cheetah. He had a great life, I knew what to expect this time, from prior experiences....I texted her that morning and within 2 hrs she was at my house and helped put Cheetah in that place where he can chase squirrels and be free of pain! She is amazing!!! She is kind, compassionate, gentle, and so giving of herself. She talks you through everything. Honestly this is one of the hardest things to do, but she is the only person I would ever trust with something that is so close to my heart. The world is a much better place with Dr. Lana Roberts in it! She is simply the best!! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart....once again!

We are so grateful for Lana being there at such short notice when our boy, Charlie was ready to say goodbye. This was not an easy thing to face, but she made it less painful by allowing Charlie to be his most comfortable surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. She explained the process step by step so we knew what to expect and then allowed us our privacy while we grieved and said our final goodbyes. A few short weeks later, Charlie was back home with us with his remains thoughtfully presented in a beautiful wooden urn. This was the best possible way to say goodbye to our beloved faithful Charlie, no pain, no anxiety, just peace. Thank you, Lana.

Our mastiff was the heart of our family for ten years. Her health declined rapidly and we had to make that difficult decision. I called Dr Robert’s on a Sunday and she was immediately available. We set an appointment for the following day. This allowed our “baby girl” to spend her last moments surrounded by her family, in her own home, in her own bed. Dr Robert’s was kind and patient as we said our goodbyes. There’s never an easy way to say goodbye to our pets but I can’t imagine any other way than at home with their family.
