How to Save Money at Marion Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
They have been our vet going on 12 years. The staff is always very friendly and recognize our boys by sight. The boys enjoy seeing Dr. Bock and they are calm when being seen by him. Highly recommend!

Provided timely services and great care. We have gone there for 9 and 1/2 years and there is no reason to search further. Their only flaw from my perspective is that they are cyclone fans.

We started taking our cats to Dr. Ryan Bock as soon as he opened the practice. We have consistently received top quality medical care for our cats, as well as incredible kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, and compassion for our cats and for "their people." When times are hard, Dr. Bock is exceptionally supportive and understanding. I can unequivocally recommend Dr. Bock to anyone who wants to take their pets to an amazing vet and an amazingly good person. ~Bonnie

I am giving 1 star because I have to, but I'd really like to give -1 million stars to this incompetent, pill pushing so called vet, that killed my parents dog, Bitty. First off, Dr. Bock diagnosed Bitty with Cushings 2 years ago, and put him on meds for it that Bitty kept having problems with. Then Bitty started coughing and I told my parents, I think he has a problem with his heart. Supposedly Bock xrayed him and found nothing. Then all of the sudden Bitty's Cushings turned into Addisons, which then supposedly all of the sudden went away too. By the way, Cushings doesn't go away! Bitty was still very sick, but according to Bock there was nothing he could find as he SUPPOSSEDLY took xrays etc. and could find nothing, so he just threw some pills at Bitty and said that that should help him. WRONG!!!! Not even a month later, Bitty got really sick so my parents took Bitty to the emergency vet, where they have competent, knowledgeable vets who care about your pet, veterinarians. They took xrays of Bitty again here. Well guess what Bock? Bitty had an enlarged heart, a huge mass on his liver and an embolism in his lungs and never even had Cushings in the first place!! How did you even miss something like that? These things do not pop up over night!!! Dr. Bock, you are the worst vet I've ever known. My parents should sue you . How you became a vet I will never know. Because of you a beloved family member of ours has died. Because of your blatant incompetence. Thanks a lot for breaking our hearts, you are a real POS! My family will NEVER come to you again! I beg all of you, if you care about your pet, please, please do not take your beloved family member here. You will truly regret it! I do not want your pet to end up like our little Bitty did.

Dr Bock killed my grandparents dog. Said he had cushings disease… that “went away” a few years later… it was a tumor on his liver and a blood clot in his lungs. BTW cushings doesn’t go away and DR BOCK should be sued a hole.
