How to Save Money at Linn Animal Hospital Marion
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
It's never fun when you have to visit the vet, but if you have to, this is the place to go. Over the past couple of years, we had to put two of our dogs down, and I couldn't imagine having to do it anywhere else. They are compassionate and empathize with you during a truly difficult time. More importantly, they are honest in their opinions about what is best for your pet, even when it's not an easy choice. I never felt pressured one way or another. Even on a routine visit for shots or nail trims, they do an incredible job trying to make you and your pet comfortable.

We have trusted Linn Animal Marion with all 3 of our beloved pets for the past 16 years. They have exceptional customer service and we are always greeted with positive, smiling faces as soon as we walk through the door. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable and treat my pets as their own. They truly care and go above and beyond to thoroughly diagnose and explain treatment plans so we are able to understand. That level of care is hard to find these days. I would not trust any other veterinary clinic with my pets and I am grateful for everything they do.

The woman who answers the phone is very rude. There is hostility in her voice and I see there have been other complaints about this person not too long ago. The Vets, are great there. It’s just that one girl who answers the phone clearly should not be working in that facility. She also has a problem being honest. I would definitely keep an eye on her because this place is going to lose customers more and more because of her lack of customer service skills and dishonesty. There is always one in a company and it’s so sad she’s so young and can’t even do her job without being rude to people.

I am also an Animal Care & Service Provider, and have worked in the area for almost 15 years. Working in the Pet Industry, you quickly realize that we are all one large community of good hearted people who are all trying to do the same thing; love and care for animals the best we can. Linn Animal is the preferred Veterinary Service by many of my clients and family members, and they are always kind when I’m interacting with them over the phones at work. After working in the industry this long, you know when to spot the good ones, even from a mile away! Linn Animal’s staff is kind hearted and loving, and is always going out of their way for pets, people, and others in their same industry! Thanks for being so great to work with, and for helping so many of my clients stay happy and healthy!

The doctors here are very informative and make me feel like my pets are in capable hands. The technician’s are compassionate and caring, and I can tell they really care about not just my pets, but me as well! My chihuahua is horrible for restraint, and the technicians do a wonderful job keeping him calm all while still getting the task done! 10/10 recommend Dr. Garman, Dr. Raimondi and Dr. Wilken anyday. ❤️
