How to Save Money at Arms of Aloha
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Arms of Aloha provides a level of compassion and professionalism that simply cannot be found anywhere else. What is normally the most traumatic experience a pet owner will endure was instead a respectful and gentle transition, the most peaceful passing I have ever witnessed. With the help of Arms of Aloha our beloved Andie crossed over in the comfort of our home, in her own soft bed, with our gentle whispers in her ears and the warm touch of our hands letting her know that she was loved. Words cannot express just how deeply grateful we are...

Dr. Naun and the staff at Arms of Aloha completely embody the name. They are the arms of aloha. They are kind and compassionate and professional. It is special calling to provide end of life care and I am so grateful to them all for helping us say goodbye to Bodhi and Gemma at home in our arms. Their ashes were returned to us in 3 days beautifully wrapped in velvet bags and mahogany boxes. The paw prints and fur clippings were so appreciated along with the phone calls and cards expressing sympathy and compassion. I highly recommend their services if your pet needs palliative care or compassionate home euthanasia.

I had to let my best friend of 14 years go and it's the hardest thing I have ever done. Arms of Aloha made it so I could hold my boy outside in the sun while he went peacefully to sleep. Dr Naun thank you for giving Potpie a peaceful death and for being there for all of us during the process. Chris thank you for answering my questions and being so kind and genuine. Thank you all for everything. I recommend Arms of Aloha to anyone and everyone with a furry loved one.

Throughout the entire process of the transition / loss of our dog, Arms of Aloha has been truly caring, open, and supportive. They have shown the utmost levels of sympathy and understanding to our needs. We could not have asked for better people or services during this difficult time. They made the process much easier for us, but most importantly for our dog. We especially appreciate the explanations, and the thoughtful notes after our loss. I highly recommend them to anyone facing the difficult decisions on when and how to care for your pet when they are suffering.

Last year, I was recommended to contact Arms of Aloha from the family that I adopted Naomi from. I was overwhelmed by the caring & compassionate care of Dr. Carolyn Naum when she came by to my home to make it comfortable for my precious husky/lab Naomi to pass on to the Rainbow Bridge from this life on earth. Naomi was 13 years old and was a great companion to a friend who lived with us while going through 8 years of chemo therapy and Naomi was her greatest companion. Dr. Naum and her staff were always so supportative during the most difficult time for me to be without Naomi. My heartfelt appreciation for the phone calls and cards of encouragement and compassion.
