How to Save Money at ReadiVet Atlanta, Mobile Vet Services

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This was the best experience for myself and my pet that I have had in quite some time. Dr Hannah and his assistant were exceptional. I will always refer to ready vet if I need an opinion or a full exam. It made my dog feel much more calm and spared the long drive to the vets I would give them five plus Stars if I could.

I can't express enough how grateful I am for ReadiVet and their exceptional mobile vet services. My rescue dog, Zuko, has always been absolutely terrified of going to the vet's office, to the point where it was unhealthy and risky. The stress and anxiety were overwhelming for both of us. Then we discovered ReadiVet, and it has been a game-changer. They trade the waiting room for my living room, allowing Zuko to stay out of the clinic and enjoy the comfort of being around just me and the exceptionally loving two friends ("vets" shhhh!) that I just allowed in the house, pockets full of healthy treats and non-stop attention/love. Both veterinarians and the veterinary technicians (PA? VA?) are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and kind. You can tell they love what they do and that they actually care about their patients. The team is also very quick to answer emails, calls, and even texts, which adds to the overall convenience and reassurance. The difference in Zuko's behavior is remarkable; he stays calm and relaxed during the visits. This service has made taking care of my lil baby boy so much easier and less stressful for both of us. I've already recommended ReadiVet to every client and friend I have. Even if your pet doesn't have anxiety at vet offices, the convenience alone is worth it... as well as just the kindness of avoiding your furry buddy being scared for even one second. Thank you so so SO much!

Dr. Madsen and her tech (sorry that I can't remember her name) were just awesome with our two dogs at our home for their well visit. We have one dog who is EXTREMELY, over-the-top anxious with vets. The ReadiVet team took all the steps to help him feel as secure as possible and while he still didn't love it, they were able to make sure he was healthy and got him his vaccines etc for the coming year. Dr. Madsen was patient, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and personable - everything you want in a vet! I highly recommend!

I could not have asked for better care. I first met Readivet last week to avoid a car ride to the vet and to establish an in-home relationship. A week later my Riley declined, and they were there for me each day. I will never forget their kindness and knowledge.

Easy 5 stars, hands down. This was not my first in -home visit with them but it was the first with my extremely shy, afraid girl who needed her annual check-up. Dr Madsen and crew did amazing! They gave her some time to get used to them. Calm voices. Lots of reassurance and were able to give shots, check all her vitals, and draw blood. My pooch didnt fully calm down but overall it was better than going to an office. Highly recommend not only mobile vet but Readivet! UPDATE: they’re awesome! Had to treat damaged nail on my feisty girl and they were brilliant!
