How to Save Money at Animal Medical Center of Lawrenceville, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The entire team at Animal Medical Center was amazing! Their customer service and care is outstanding. I'm so glad I made the decision to bring my dog Mamba. They took great care of him and you can truly trust them with your pets. They explained everything and was personable and kind. Their smiles made me smile when I was having a hectic day. I will be a regular there...oh and Mamba too lol! He came back home acting boujie because they took such good care of him, he jumped on my sofa and sat down like he was a King in my castle..I said oh no little buddy, but at least sit there while I take this photo lol

11/29/22 update: We now have an 18 month old dog and they provide excellent care for him too!!! I am a first time dog owner and they patiently explain care choices and what to expect, and answer all my questions. Everyone is so friendly too!!!! -- We have been taking our cats here for about five years. Every Doctor is caring and take the time to explain and answer questions about the cats' care. They make suggestions in the cats' best interest, not for financial gain. Every visit has been a great experience. They even squeezed us in on short notice on our last visit but we never felt rushed. Their services are affordable and excellent.

I was profiled at this “vet”. I came in terrified because my dog was acting abnormally and instead of them moving with urgency in concern for my Pomeranian puppy they locked the door I guess just incase I decided to yo and leave before paying? After taking a $300 dollar deposit they may have felt safer. Although I would’ve preferred them charge the entire payment of $370. I feel taken advantage of and being the nice non confrontational person I am I simply said nothing once I noticed they cared more about the money than the ACTUAL HEALTH of my dog!! The process I went through to import this dog and the price I paid for both her and our other dog I picked up on the very same day is far worth the measles $370 bill. Wish this staff cared more or was at least more alert and empathetic to dog owners of all kinds.

My precious old chocolate english lab recently had a scary procedure. She has been a patient there since she was a little baby. The care she received was fantastic as usual. I can't thank the Doctor and staff enough. At nearly 14, she is much better and hopefully will be with me for some time.

Dr.Franko was phenomenal!! She exceeded our expectations after a previously bad experience with my dogs prior vet. She really helped us understand the entire treatment process and even explained a detail back up plan if the initial treatment fell through which made us feel that our dog was really cared for. She’s just such a light, really helped us feel comfortable and positive. THANK YOU!!!
