How to Save Money at Georgia Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This is my Toulouse, two days after the surgery that saved his life. He was attacked by something that bit his head and broke his jaw. He would have died if not for the people who helped him at two places. Woodland Animal Hospital took his blood-covered, lifeless-feeling self from my arms at about three o'clock in the morning. They stabilized him, evaluated his injuries, and got him pain medication. When it was known that Toulouse would need a specialist due to the complexities of his broken jaw, they didn't stop until they found a doctor with the skills and training to help him. Fortunately for Toulouse, they contacted Georgia Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Dr. Allison Snow did the surgery on Toulouse the very next morning. She did an astonishing job at putting his poor little face back together. Those buttons you see are two of three that are helping his jaw hold together and heal. This was such delicate work; I am in awe of this surgeon's skill. I am eternally grateful for the kindness of both people in this office. I wholeheartedly recommend both of these animal care businesses. Woodland is a 24 hour vet. Dr. Snow's office says, 'Practice Limited to Dentistry and Oral Surgery'. Because both places saved Toulouse’s life, I wrote this review and will post it for each business. I am so glad to tell you Toulouse is recovering well. Thank you for reading this.

My dog died after his dental and went into sudden liver failure. He was a healthy dog prior, I called to let them know, and I never got a return phone call from the doctor. I lost the love of my life. Don’t let this doctor give your dog surgery.

Two of my cats have had dental surgery with Dr. Snow. One had full mouth extractions due to FIV-related stomatitis, the other had a more straightforward cleaning with two extractions. Both procedures went great. The office is clean and comfortable, and both Dr. Snow and Kathy took time before and after the procedure to hear all my concerns and explain everything to me. Bloodwork is done on premises day of. Full before and after imaging was done, and shown to me. Supportive aftercare meds were sent home. Dr. Snow has been so great to work with, she has gone above and beyond to help me figure out how to treat my poor stomatitis cat who has just needed a lot of supportive care even after his extractions. She's done additional research and consulted with colleagues to help figure out alternate treatment plans going forward. I wish she could be my vet for everything. I drive from Atlanta with screaming cats to see her - so you know she must be good!

I paid for a consult. They said he needed a root canal. I dropped our German Shepard off for surgery, only to get a call that we needed to take him to our vet immediately! He had a problem under anesthesia and his intubation tube was removed before it was deflated. They charged me for the “procedure” even though they did no procedure. I then incurred $700 from my vet to clean up their mess. Our baby bled from the nose and mouth for weeks. Also, his tooth is fine and needs nothing. I’m in for over $2k and they refused to refund any of my money. I would NEVER take my pet to this “vet” again. He almost died for a procedure he didn’t need, was mishandled, and they charged me for. Imagine taking your pet to these people, things going sideways, getting charged for nothing, and getting a call that you need to leave work immediately to take your pet to his actual vet. To the staff, be careful with this..you make an untrue comment or try and delete, and I’ll post bloody pictures…, you’re call.

It was an absolutely perfect environment for making your pet feel like home if they are in a stressful state. No hard stainless steel tables but comforting soft furniture. Dr. Snow and Kathy couldn’t have been nicer and calming to me and my Yorkie, Elsie.
